I was cleaning my rabbits cage today when I noticed she has a spot under her chin with no hair! It is right in between her "chin" and her dewlop thing. There is one spot where it looks like the fur is regrowing because it is very short and one spot where it is just bald. She is a Nertherland Dwarf named Lucky, she is 4 years old. There is no way she is pregnant so nest building is not an option. I am probably going to go see the vet if I can't figure anything out. PLEASE help me!!!

Both of my rabbits are shedding, I just read that bald spots during shedding season are normal is this true?

They are seperated because they do not get along.

Is it possible that your other rabbit is grabbing her by the underscruff and pulling out fur?
Or are they separated.

That's good that you separated the rabbits. That could be one possible cause. There can be a few others.

One thing that can cause something like that are parasites such as fur mites. A shot of Ivermection should cure any parasites the rabbit mite have.

If the rabbit has a large dewlap the dewlap may be getting down into the bowl of water causing mold to grow on the dewlap and thus causing the rabbit to go bald in that spot. You might notice some green around the area fur if that is the case. You can help prevent that by putting a tennis ball in the water bowl if you use a water bowl. That will help keep the dewlap out of the water. Or you can go to a bottle waterer with a nozzle so the rabbit doesn't drink out of a bowl.

It can also be due an imbalanced diet with not enough fiber or protein. If you are feeding stuff besides just the pellets that could be causing an imbalanced diet.

Sometimes rabbits can get an infection under their chin either by catching it on something when rubbing their chin on stuff or through a toot problem. The abcess can sometimes cause the rabbit to go bald under the chin.

Your vet should be able to give you a good idea what is causing it.

This happened to my hamster before. She was missing hair exactly where you mentioned. I took her to the vet and they said it was a small infection (nothing too serious). I gave her antibiotics for a few days and her fur grew back. So take her to the vet soon so they can tell you what is going on and so you know for sure! I hope I helped and good luck!

There are human beings available who exceedingly use puppy fur to make yarn. I study a piece of writing in a mag presently the place a woman became making jumpers and wooolen hats out of the fur from cats and canines that have been clipped or brushed out. it would be stressful to locate somebody keen to purchase the fur from you yet once you wished to hire somebody to spin it into yarn you're able to sell it that way.
