Tiredness can come from a number of sources.
Anemia, where your body is low on iron
Thyroid, malfunctioning
Stress overload
Dieting
Physical, Mental or emotional exhaustion
Grief
Anger
Fear
Depression
This is the reason it is best to see your family Dr. to have some tests done to sort out the cause, and to be accurately treated for the problem.

There can be many things that cause this maby depression. Or it's how much you sleep. Some teens sleep form 10pm at night all the way too 3 pm in the afternoon. It's called over sleeping . You should sleep around 7 - 8.5 hours a night. If you sleep past that u wake up tired and u dont feel like doing anything and its ends up to be a gllomy day 4 u. Wich in ur case ur thinking its depression. Also maby lets say ur abit overweight.. (I DONT KNOW IF U ARE) u might need to get up and go and eat some energy food not junk. DONT SLEEP IN TOO MUCH!!!

Could be....sort out all problems before bed so you get a good, worryless sleep. Get into a rountine of going to sleep too. You need at least 8 hours sleep EVERY night so make sure you get that. All before bed do relaxing activities like reading or watching TV. During the day or after work try and do as much exercise as possible...go for a jog or something. This will help you be tired for bed. Good luck!

It would help if you can answer some of these questions...Aside from being constantly tired, what other things do you feel? Do you get dizzy? Do you notice some changes in your weight? Losing or gaining despite normal food intake? Do you often feel cold? How about your menses? Are they regular?
If you feel lethargic despite long hours of sleep, gain weight even if you take little food, often feel unusually cold, or your menses are quite irregular, you may have hormonal problems, particularly thyroid problems.
However, I might ask, do you mean "tired" physically, or is it that you lose interest in the normal things you do? Major depression would mean quite a longer time of not being able to do what you would normally do, even everyday tasks...more criteria need to be met. I doubt that what you have is depression.

There are very many things that can cause fatigue. Hypothyroidism, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, medications, depression, and anxiety are just a few of them. It's best to go to a doctor to get diagnosed so you can zero in on the cause of your problem. Your doctor can do tests to rule out hypothyroidism and auto-immune disorders (fibromyalgia or Rheumatoid Arthritis). If your doctor thinks it is depression, he/she will likely give you advice on dealing with it and possibly medication.
Ways you can ease depression on your own: avoid too many sweets. They may be very appealing, but the sugar rush and then coming down from it is stressful to the body, not to mention it drains you of energy. Get sunshine each day. I'd suggest at least an hour. If you can read, draw, walk, ride a bike...anything outdoors, it can help a lot. Make sure you use sunscreen if you are prone to sunburn. Relaxation techniques usually help many people. I'll give you a link to some techniques in the sources window. Doing something you enjoy doing, like cooking, going out to a restaurant, watching a funny movie, gardening...anything at all, can make you feel better. Sometimes looking forward to doing something fun can make you feel better. And smile. Literally. It will help ease some of the weight you feel on your shoulders. You can purchase books to help you and I'll link you to a couple in the source window. You'll be able to look over the information in the books online and decide if one of them is for you.
I suffer from auto-immune disorders and depression/anxiety related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. So, I've learned many methods over these 15 years that relieve the symptoms. It could be a sign of depression if you have been consistently sad for a minimum of 2 weeks. It may also be chronic fatigue syndrome.
Of coarse, it could also be your diet. The more beef and pork you eat, the more tired you become after eating them. Also, if you eat lat night snacks, you could be compromising the full affects of sleep. Furthermore, if you haven't had your colon cleaned within a year or had the toxins cleaned from your body, the toxins may be building up in your body and wearing you down.

See a doctor and get a check up because their may be medical reason such as mono, thyroid problems, or anaemia or maybe you just aren't eating enough of the right foods. But maybe you are depressed, talk to a counsellor if you are really stressed by it or have issues that maybe causing a low level depression.

Try drinking a little more water throughout the day; I read recently that is the reason we often get tired in the afternoon. Besides, it's a very natural thing for people to nap in the afternoon, we just don't do it. It sure could be depression, but do you feel depressed? Depending on your age, it could be fibromyalgia or chronic fatique disease. Watch your diet and keep a diary for a while. If you don't like cooked veggies, try them raw.
