How much you should go depends a lot on you individually and what you eat. Anywhere from 3 times a week to 3 times a day is healthy, but less than 3xs a weeks is chronic constipation.
I used to go MAYBE once a week....sometimes once every couple weeks. (THAT is chronic constipation -- I didn't know there was anything wrong with it at the time).
My eating is very different now, mainly vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, soy, etc...I go 1-4 times a day! Honestly, I feel a lot better. I don't feel like there's food stuck and rotting in my intestines.

Once a day is normal some go twice. I have problems sometimes go more often or less often but when balanced once a day is fine for me, if I went more than 3 times a day I would be a bit concerned - if I went after every meal I ate I would know I was very ill.

"After every meal"...Not necessarily. But it IS optimal to have 2-3 bowel movements a day. The healthier the diet, the more likely this is to happen. That's why the typical American is chronically constipated...most of our diets quite frankly suck.
And, yes, I typically do 3 a day...2 for sure.

I think once a day is adequate but I think if one can go after every meal it might make one feel better.
I have been 3 times and day and more in the past but its usually when my bowel is a bit irritable or I have eaten a lot of fruit.

A gastroenterologist told me this:- 'Don't worry about how many times you go or don't go; whether it's hard, soft or what consistency it is. The only time you should worry is if there's blood in it. In this case, see a doctor about it.' Everyone's digestion is different and because what comes out is what goes in, your pooh is going to be different each time depending on what you have eaten. As long as you eat sensibly, you shouldn't worry about it. Check what you've been eating. Have you been stuffing yourself with laxatives? That won't do you any good. Eat protein, fruit, veg and carbohydrates and drink LOADS of water.

I usually go 2-3 three times a week, but it depends on what I have been eating that week (obviously if I eat healthier than I might go every 1-2 days).
It's rubbish to believe doctor's etc, as different people have different bowel habits and it should only be considered abnormal if your habit is different to usual (you need to go more than your usual or you're constipated for more than a week, as it's usually a medical cause and needs investigating, such as bowel or colon cancer).

Sometimes every morning, sometimes every other day. I used to be and felt really sluggish until I changed from white bread to brown/wholemeal/granary bread. I eat plenty of fruit as well.
3 times a day....sounds like another daft health idea the boffins have invented.

I go once a day - first thing in the morning!
I only used to go every 2nd-3rd day (been this way since being a baby) but after being pregnant I an now what I consider to be 'regular'

About 3 times a day, usually in the morning after my coffee. A few years back, I had problems similar to yours and tried a product called LBT 3. Bought it at a health store and made life so much better.

Me and both my kids go about 3 times a day, but anything from once every 3 days, to 4 times a day is classified as normal and healthy.
