ok well i was talking to my friend last night about how my mom got mad at me because i have choosen to have crackers for my lunch at school. and then i kinda a little later decided to ask him if he thought i ate healthily or not and he told me that i don't even really eat. i told him i do wich i do but it's normally a snack and 1 meal a lunch right after school or dinner and he told me that i'm not being smart in doing this and kept telling me that i need breakfast and thats something that i've heard from many but i don't belive cause i function just fine without it and i do well on my tests so everything that i've heard about breakfast has been disproven to me. so if i do just fine with what i eat do i really need to eat breakfast?

You would be suprised at the difference in your energy level if you eat in the AM. You may function fine without it, but you would function better with it.

Also, this may not affect you now as you are young, however when your body is deprived of energy (calories) for long periods of time, your metabolism will start to go into a sort of hibernation mode and your body will burn calories as efficiently as possible so it can store all the calories it gets. When calories are stored, they are called fat.

Breakfast is something that your body does need. Even though you may not be able to see the signs of living with out breakfast, your body will be healthier with out it. Breakfast jump starts your metabolism, it keeps you from being hungry later in the day, and it just starts your day of right. Plus there are tons of different things that you can eat for breakfast, that are also healthy, so why not eat it?! Even though you don't think it effects you during the day, try eating breakfast for 1-2 weeks, and see how much different you feel during the day as compared to then. Hope I helped, and please start eating breakfast!

food is what makes your body function! of course its needed! its also important that you get enough of it to remain healthy and nourished...there are many horrible diseases that can come from being malnourished. the effects of not having breakfast are not as obvious as what you have stated. having breakfast is crucial to setting an even blood sugar level for the day and without it your blood sugar level is going crazy all day. this can lead to the developement of diabetes later on in life which is a lot more horrible of a disease than people give it credit for. eating enough and eating healthy is important to living a long, functional life. think about years down the road when you have kids. you want to be around to watch them grow up and have kids don't you?
