Just go to my computer, right click the C drive, and click format. Make sure you format it with the NTFS filesystem.

If that doesn't work, the C drive could be currupted or have a virus on it preventing you from formatting it. But you can easily take the C drive out of your computer and make the D drive a C drive

Put your XP disk into your cd drive and restart your system. Strike a keyboard key to boot from the cd when your are asked to do so. Windows will start to load. It will load some files and then ask if you want to install Windows Now. Click yes. On the next page it will ask what partition you want to install to. At this point drop down a couple of lines and follow the instructions for removing the partition. You will have to do this for each partition that you want to remove. After you have removed all partitions follow the instructions on how to "create" a partition. Next, Windows will want to format this partition. Let it do so. After Window has formatted the partition it will begin the load process. That should do it.

You will need a Windows XP bootable cd. You will put the cd and then restart the computer. Make sure that the BIOS setup is set to boot from the CD. Then you will see something like, press any key to boot from the cd so just press any key and the Windows instalation will begin.
Once you are in the windows instalation there will be an option to erase the C:> drive and or the d:> drive
