The rich and powerful (religious, political and corporate leaders) of all nations can make use of war in many ways. 1. War can distract from the political and economic failings of national systems. Once an us vs. them mentality is created and we have enemies to fight, a multitude of our sins can be projected onto the "others" and the illusion created that once our enemies are defeated our lives will be better. 2. National economies can be improved during and after war. Production picks up and population is reduced. The danger of relying on war for the economic health is that one approaches the current situation of the U.S. economy. Namely that perpetual war is necessary to keep the defense contractors going. 3. Though not as effective as in the past. war works to reduce population. Until people consciously choose to reproduce in a responsible way and voluntarily reduce the global human population we will need war, natural disasters and disease to provide a check on unrestrained population growth. Sad but true. 4. Though often presented to the masses as grounded in spiritual or religious differences, war is almost always rooted in greed and control of valuable resources. As a side note, I don't know whether English is your second or third language or you've been poorly educated, but the phrasing of your question evokes in my imagination the vision of Tarzan trying to type with his knuckles.

What language is that?? And people didn't think it was about oil after 9/11. If your so short sighted as to think it's only about oil, you are really uninformed. The only thing that comes close to that kind of thinking for me is that, these people are as close to being Barbarians as we'll find anywhere in the world, and have been killing each other for thousands of years. Why? would we think we could just step in and civilize them overnight?

Is this a question? A real question? or just rhetorical? I mean, if you own a house, a car, have a wife and child and someone breaks in and tortures your child, rapes your wife, burns down your house and drives off in your car, would you like it? If not, then you have your answer.
