have an original silk screen painting that folds and has four sections. My father bought it when he was in the vietnam war for a lot of money and in the 80's it was appraised at $5000. 20 years later I have the painting but it has holes in the fabric (2 clean cuts actually). Does anyone know where I might be able to look for this painting on the net or where I might find an appraisal in the Panama City Beach, FL area. I found one appraisor here but she has to do extensive research to find info which means......a huge cost to me. I do not wish to pay this if I can find an appraisor whom knows about this sort of painting beforehand. And yes, I am selling it when I finally get a few appraisals. I'm willing to drive to get this taken care of. I also can take pictures for those that know about foreign art. Thanks.

There is no way of telling. You may have a $10 thingy or indeed a very expensive one. Only a specialist can tell you for sure. Try an action house they usually give you an appraisal for free...but as this IS VERY specialized it may (and they will tell you that) very iffy.

It should not cost you any more than about $20-$50 but you should get a 'certificate' with that proving it is a real one.
