It is much more ok to drink than it is to have a wedding...so....yeah ;)
Just kidding, just remember that it is a big event and one that you will remember forver....so have a drink but don't over do it. You don't want to make an *** of yourself......save that for the family reunion!
Congrats and good luck!

I'll answer your question with a story. When I was getting married, the minister's wife told us a story. She said they had a bride in there who had a party the night before the wedding (groom had one too) and she really went overboard. On her wedding day, they had her in her dress, all spread out, on the floor. She was face down just trying to stop the dizziness and nausea from partying the night before. They went on with the wedding and part way through she threw up all over her dress and passed out. They had to call the Aid car and took her to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. They had hired a company to take pictures and that guy was DEFINITELY busy taking pictures!! I don't remember if she made it to the "I do" part or not but can you imagine how every one there felt and how mortified the bride was? A little alcohol, when your emotions are running high from the stress and excitement, can really do strange things to you. I can just see the pictures she'll have in her wedding book. How is she going to explain it to her children when they want to see Mommy and Daddy's wedding? Also imagine that scenario when the parents have paid something like $35,000 for a wedding and that happens..... My wedding didn't cost my parents a dime. You can drink AT your wedding but the more you drink, the less you will remember of that glorious ceremony and reception.

If you can limit yourself to one it's Ok but alot of places ban the bridal party from drinking before the ceremony because of the bad things that can happen. Emotions tend to run high and alcohol accentuates that. Valium anyone????

In some states it is illegal to consume alcohol prior to the ceremony as it is a legal obligation agreed to by both parties. If discovered, the union could be found invalid by a judge.

No more than 2 (single shots) max, unless you want to be stumbling down the aisle and make a complete fool of yourself. Just enough to relax your nerves a little.

Have a couple of shots or champagnes if necessary and then behave until the reception, get drunk and then have wild sex. Just DONT vomit or fall over.
