Searching for secluded cottage, motel, hotel, at the waterfront, in Southern California.

Searching for three days stay at the waterfront, in Southern California.

For my "Think Weekend," a three-day stretch of seclusion I want to ponder my future and get motivated.

Please submit your ideas and advice.

Thanks in advance.

this is an easy one! Crystal Cove State Park. This used to be an area of small private cottages on a secluded section of beach between Corona Del Mar and Laguna beach. it has been taken over by the park system and they are gradually remodeling the Cottages and rent them out.
Secluded, Beautiful and a great beack. check it out!

A little tip. Many times these cottages are sold out. but... if you show up and shmooze the Reservations girl she will let you have cancelations. It is remarkably inexpensive and really cool. Great restaurant there as well. Worth going to even if you don't get a cottage.
tip 2: They have dorm type cottages that have you sharing a bath and kitchen area but still provide some seclusion. I have met some really nice people here.

Have fun.

Wow. I am right there with you. What a great idea.

The challenge is that most SoCal housing at the waterfront is in pretty urban settings - do you really have to stay in SoCal? If not, there are many places to go along the Central coast. On the central coast there are places in Morro Bay, Pismo Beach and Cayucos (like Cayucos On the Beach Bed and Breakfast) - all very quiet; But - given that you need to stay in the southland, I'd be tempted to go someplace like Casa Malibu Inn in Malibu.
