I've heard that too many flea bites can give an animal anemia, so if your infestation was really bad, that could be it. They can also carry diseases, so he might have something like tapeworm. He could also have had a bad reaction to something you used to treat him or the house. Or, it could be something completely unrelated to the fleas. Anytime a cat changes in behavior and stops eating, you should take it to the vet. I hope he feels better!

First off, what did you treat him and the house with? If it was anything from a store, be worried - these kinds of products are often dangerous as well as ineffective.

Have you considered that your cat may have an illness that is nothing to do with fleas? Not eating much is not usually something fleas cause. I think it might be time to talk to a vet.

What did you use? Most flea killers use some kind of poison. So essentially your poisoning your pet and your home. You should try diatoms. It is a powder like substance that kills any pest with an exoskeleton. That includes roaches, fleas, ants, and a whole bunch more! Best of all it uses no poisons! It's safe to use. It's called Natural Animal Diatom Dust Insect Powder. It's only $20 for a five pound bucket and it works.

Anytime your pet shows signs of unusual behavior, have him/her checked by a vet. The best flea treatment is one of the vet-approved medications like Advantage. They cost more, but are much more effective than sprays.

Have him checked by the vet very soon, it's possible fleas spread something to him or maybe depleted nutrients in his body to that extent.
