Depends on what kind of sick you're talking about. Upset stomaches require alot of soothing, so you want to keep it simple with toast, broth, and nothing heavy. For flu and colds, you can't beat chicken soup, but here are some other alternatives:
1. Hot and Sour soup from your favorite take-out
2. Matzo Ball soup
3. Won Ton Noodle soup
4. Baked potatoes
5. Toast with strawberry jam
6. Chicken tenders and fresh veges
Go light on the dairy since it produces extra mucous!

Any soup or broth is good. The idea is to have something which is easily digested and light, as opposed to something heavy and hard. It just happens to be that chicken noodle is a "comfort food" associated with a warm home with mom on a cold winter day. Personally, I lean toward thick homemade tomato soup with a grilled cheese (Velveeta preferred, but American is good too) sandwich to dip into the soup, and maybe some soda crackers to crumble into the soup... yummy!

I don't wanna sound like I'm spamming this whole section with chocolate-related stuff but I do love chocolates and I think its one of my personal favorite to make me feel good while I'm sick...
Anyway, there's porridge and there's tom yum soup where I come from, it helps the body to feel better and stronger along the way. Tom yum soups are good for cold symptoms too especially if they're extra hot and spicy!

Anything you can stomach. Chicken soup ( Jewish Penicillan) is good. Ginger ale, toast, cream of wheat, nothing with a lot of acid on a sick stomach. How about scrambled eggs.
Hope you feel better.

For some reason I like mushroom soup when I don't feel well, and I heat it up with only a bit of milk and pour it over a couple of slices of toast. I just find it soothing and comforting.

Anything with vitamin C like oranges or grapefruit. You also want to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, tea and clear fruit juices.
