can anyone tell me what an electrician would charge to fit an outdoor socket?

Depends if it's 'through the wall' or remote from the house ??But between £75.00 and £120.00 would be a guide price. Why not get a couple of quotes?

Â£20 per hour, Â£40 for weather-proof socket, Â£3 per metre of T&E cable from the house (say you need 10 metres), circuit testing about Â£20. So that's Â£110. Ouch.
