No it means changing your life to live in accordance with gods word the bible as well as excepting god and his son in your heart and conforming to gods will.
Faith without works is dead so preaching the good news of the kingdom is a part of it also

How were you born the first time? How much water was involved? We are buried with Christ in baptism (immersion0 Follow what is written in Acts 2:38. This is the born again process according to God. just accepting Christ into your heart is meaningless. There isn't any scripture to support that viewpoint. We need to get rid of our sin and doing what St. Peter told us to do is the only way. We then need the Holy Ghost to help us to overcome any other sin that will come along. I would suggest going by what the Bible says and not some man made foolishnes. Read the first two Chptrs of the Book of Acts.

I think Jesus used that term deliberately as a comparison to being born. A fertile (egg) is required that is a heart readied to believe in God or if you don't like the word heart then soul or spirit. Then God with his powerful word (the seed) joins with that fertile soil of your heart and you become a child of God (born again). Just saying the words does not make you a born again Christian. You can't chant your way into it nor can you fake your way into becoming a born again Christian. I shudder when evangalists make it sound like everyone is "saved" because they came forward to receive Christ.

First we're born of a earthy mother, the baby is surrounded by water and this breaks In childbirth. Although the baby Is born alive It Is still spiritually dead. We all know that If this baby dies before he comes to know right from wrong then It goes to heaven, But In order to be born again we must receive a birth of the spirit, thus comes the meaning of being born again. We have then gone through the spiritual birth. Remember Nicodemus asking Jesus, how can I re-enter my nother's womb now that I am old. Jesus explained that a man must be born of water (through a natural Birth, disspelling the CLONE theory, they will not have a soul) and then he must be born of the spirit. To ask Jesus Into your heart to be your Lord & Savior. Then you become a new creation In Christ.

When you accept that Jesus Christ, is the son of God,then say with your mouth and believe with your heart that he died for your sins and was raised from the dead for your justification at that moment YOU, not your body but YOU,the spirit man is washed clean of your sins by the blood of Jesus, and at that moment you will become a born again child of God, a new creation, saved by the blood of Jesus...Its impossible to receive anything form God without faith and that includes salvation...Believe, if you will only Believe !!!

It has various usages, depending on who is using the term!
(Almost a Humpty-Dumpty thing, for those who know their Lewis Carroll)

Theologically, all Christians are born-again.
If you're not born agan, you're not a Christian: there is no "Second-stage" Christianity.

Other uses include using it to mean little more than a "serious" or "committed" Christian as opposed to someone who is a "church-goer"
It's often heard this way stated with pride by the speaker, which always sounds a little odd.

I understand "born-again" in context to stand as a balance to both the "faith" and "works" strands of belief. The one thing you can not do for yourself, by any act even of the will, is to get yourself born. It's a passive thing: it has to be done for you.
Thus nobody brings *anything* to being born again. Not faith, not good acts, nor intentions... It is something done to and for them, like one's first birth.
Those leaning more towards the "freewill" side of the great frewil/predestination divide won't like that quite so much, but it sits well with Paul's exposition in Romans 9
``I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
And I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.''

(but Paul sees people like me as been a vessel of wrath, made for destruction. Same chapter.)

It means to be "born again" when one has accepted Jesus as God in the flesh, accepted Jesus as Savior by being the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Accepting that God came down to us as Jesus to teach us the way to Him, instead of continuing rebellion. Also turning away from their previous selfish ways, asking the Holy Spirit to lead their life daily.

God knows each person's heart, He knows if you say things and don't mean it, and He knows when you say things and mean it.

Accepting the gift of grace(eternal life) by being born again is a personal choice that must be made between you and God. No church can save you, only God.

Church is for learning more about God and His word. To fellowship with other believers and to worship God. However, go by your Bible always, do not always take a certain church's teachings for the truth...compare it with the Bible. If they say what is in the Bible, then they teach the truth, if they say different, then I advise you to leave that church.

I would put it that way. Once you do believe in Christ Jesus and what he has done...and asked for the forgiveness of your sins, then you become a new creature and are born into the family of God.

Born Again means to humble and submit your self to the control of God.
Meaning a new birth within a sinner like us by the Power of God the Holy spirit, 2Co 5:17.

Repenting, with mourning in hearts for our sins (meaning we really meant it), asking God even Lord Jesus to forgive all of our sins and iniquities and to dwell within our hearts and control us in total submission (John 14:26; John 15:26-27) and be the Savior and King of our life, else we can do nothing to change our own corrupted nature (Romans 3:10; 3:23; Ecc 7:20; Isaiah 64:6).

As God said; Philippians 2:13, that He does the good works within us not us who does it but Him that dwells within!

Humility in our hearts, therefore is the main key to be born again, denying our old nature and let the New Creature in Christ dwells and take control on the steering that we may walk with Him according to what He taught us and to live by God's standard not our own standard but of God! Amen.

That's why, even praying to God the Father in heaven is not just what we think; For God said; Eph 2:18; Eph 3:12. That we can only access and call Abba Father God in heaven, if Christ is in us, Romans 3:22.

Therefore, no amount of rituals and traditions of men or women can just be useful to please God, so why waste time? Why not obey, trust, rely and ask God for wisdom to know His way and not trying to fabricate rituals and traditions to be look like we are in faith?
So, the only way is Lord Jesus, John 14:6 and nothing else, not mary, not the saints, not the pastor, not the pope, neither added tirtuals and traditions but to be Born Again in the Spirit of God and He will be the one to do the good works we need to be like Lord Jesus and be part of the family of God! Ephesians 2:8-9!

NO ONE CAN BOAST THAT THEIR DENOMINATION IS THE ONLY TRUE CHURCH FOR HOW CAN THEY CLAIM SUCH IF THEY ARE NOT NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST? FOR HOW CAN THEY CLAIMED GOOD WORKS FOR GOD SAID THE HOLY SPIRIT HIMSELF DO THE WORKS FOR US, EPH 2:10?

I won't win any popularity contest with this. But I think the way the Church is teaching Born Again is just a fad.
Jesus said when we are born of flesh we are flesh. And when we are born of Spirit we are spirit! Just like the wind blows, and goes where it wants to go.
It is possible for us to leave our bodies and travel in the spirit world before we "die", or shed our physical body. (2 Cor 12). But I feel Christ was talking about dying in this world, and being Born Again into the Spirit world from which we came.
