Or is god more pleased with critical thinking?

The thing theists seem to worship obviously holds wilful ignorance in high esteem from the sound of it.

If God did exist (which he doesn't) he would have course have to be an intelligent, ethical being (not like the thing in the bible) and respect people who were intellectually honest about saying he was made up than those blind morons who just want to be dumb and believe what their pastor says.

God doesn't exist making the humans gullible. Why do you believe in YOUR God? I mean why do you think a murderer is a murderer, why do you think you are drinking water, why do you think that car is red, why do think you got an A on your test? Well all of those have FACTS and EVIDENCE. So if your God and religion have neither, what is your basis for believing in him/it? How do you know that Allah isn't the right God, or Zeus? They all have as many facts as your God. You go by faith? Well so do Muslims! It says so in the bible? Well it says so in the Qu'ran! There is no right religion! Because there is no God.

Well, the God I know is saddened and sometimes even frustrated and disgusted with gullibility. Starting with Adam and Eve, so many times after that, stories in the Bible involve God expressing his displeasure with people that allow themselves to be so easily deceived. So many different verses discuss strategies people can (and should) use to assess the words of other people to prevent such deception...that clearly indicates to me that he isn't a fan of gullibility. For example, the "fruits of the spirit" provide clear instructions for judging whether to take the advice of another person...unfortunately, far to many people ignore these warnings.

The God I know is pleased with critical thinking, especially when we apply it to the things we are told by other people. God is happy when we seek the truth using all the resources he gave us...body, soul, AND mind. He knows the sad truth that all of us have been deceived about something by someone in our past. In some cases, that deception leads to more and more deceptions until we can't even recognize how it started. God wants us to be free from all the deceptions of the past so we can exercise our critical thinking skills without prejudice to understand the truth of our existence. Jesus said, "...you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free". The quest for truth must involve critical thinking skills...I also believe it requires the faith to accept that there is a God that loves us and wants us to be happy. Without that faith, perhaps the deception is already assured.

Gullibility is a human weakness and no human weakness is of a positive nature. So you be the Judge on that.

Now, "If there is a God" here is what I thing of it:

"I find no reason not to accept the existence of an "Orphic" undefined power, for I am aware of no rational wisdom leading me to believe otherwise."

There is a God and he is most likely displeased with how selfish we've become. No, God is not gullible.

God likes to know that we think critically, because if we were gullible, we wouldn't worship him alone, we'd worship every other god as well. And questions mean we want to learn more about our faith.

Thankfully, there is no god and we don't have to speculate on it's character beyond what's in the book. Book characters are usually taken as they were written, at face value, according to the authors descriptions.

Based on the drivel spouted by those who claim to represent him, critical thinking will lead you straight into Hell.

If there were a god, he won't want us to worship him, i mean come on, the one who'd create the universe won't be THAT self-centred.
