I just posted a question about western values. You will not find any offence, disrespect etc, not even any religious in it. Why do I receive to hatefull nasty answers? I am called "Mohamedan" which is offending already. What did I do to you guys just by questioning western values? Your answers make me even wondering more about your values. You take one honor killing (which is terrible) and do not say one word about the crime rate in your countries.

Why are so hatefull? Are you not the ones who always preach how bad and hatefull Muslims are? What about you? Maybe you should take a look into the mirror talking about hate.

Well, this question does not go out to everybody here, just look at my previous questions and you know whom I talking about. I know better than that. Sorry for sounding a bid harsh, but I am honestly upset.

Take care

edit hamerker: let me answer on nana's behalf, cause I know where she is from:
Yes, there are female politicians, equal salaries, same job opportunities, women own cars, houses and companies. Women can walk the streets at night and are not scared. Women can file for a divorce and KEEP what's theirs! Women could go to he clubs but most do not. It's because of the Religion and not because it's not allowed. Islam allows a man, if he can afford it and his wife AGREES! Uniforms are worn by the military and schoolkids. Guess you are talking about the abaya and the answer is YES! Disrimination of being a woman is made up on the other hand of taking advantage of being a woman. There is more killing people in the West than "honor" killings in Islam. Guns? For what. Maybe for hunting but it's not necesary for self protection! Also serial killers are unknown. Maybe you are so used to read about these things that you rather jump on one case of "honor" killing.

h posted it in reply to another question which was posted in Israel. If that helps you figure it out! H, I know at times it can feel hurtful, Please do not take it personally, hate hates , simple as that. Just ignore those that have hate, I know its really hard sometimes, hold on to the good people, feel their comments, and let the rest go. Peace to you!

You asked a legitimate question and thus deserved legitimate answers. That you received hate instead is terrible, and I'm sorry for those who responded so unkindly.

Going back to the original point, what so bothered me about the incident was not that the honor killing was a crime, but that it wasn't. What was unbelievable to me was how accepted it was; neither the authorities nor the civilians saw any problem with the goings on. There may very well be high crime rates in my country (I don't know the rates personally, but for the sake of argument let's assume), but this accepted apathy to the most violent of acts does not exist. To me, that's the difference.

Hi H

I live in the West and must say that we have to also defend ourselves because people seem to be so against Western values. There are bad things that happen in every nation. I do feel bad that you got some negative responses. We should all work together to make this world a better place.

Don't take it personally H, no reason to get upset over a group of unthinking people. While some of the more insulting have some valid points they are too young to have developed any tact. The internet makes it all so easy to be a jerk. Peace, Shalom, Salaam, Pax

Hi 'h'!

I'm sorry you have received some negative responses; I haven't read them yet but will check them out now.

Sadly there are some very aggressive people on this site, and a few frequent this forum!

I for one enjoy both your questions and your answers: don't stop!

Shalom and Salam

EDIT TO DA MAN

Now now......! You know that isn't true! Yes, Jews and Muslims do tend to demonize each other but surely we are learning on this website that we don't all hate each other and that we CAN show respect and interest in each other's ideas and feelings?!

EDIT 2 TO DA MAN

OK, fair point! Though I do hope you believe me when I say that there are many Jewish people that, like me, long for peace and desire a better dialogue with Muslims.

Hello h

I am sorry you are suffering from such abusive responses to an entirely fair question. For my part, I am a Westerner who is happy to look in the mirror and see what is wrong with modern Western society, and to demonstrate this let me add the following items to the list: insatiable greed, materialistic superficiality, the ability to buy your way into or out of anything regardless of morality or legality, accountants and lawyers who are paid huge amounts of money to find ways of cheating the system rather than serving it, a business environment where trampling the weak or foolish for selfish gain is standard, and the fact that our word is our bond these days only if it is written down in a cast-iron triplicate-signed contract.

In my view Eastern and Western cultures both have much to learn from each other, and an ideal system would combine the best of both.

In return, could I ask you to give an answer to my question on whether there is a way for devout Muslims to be able to compromise somewhat on their religious rules? So far, it appears that only non-Muslims have answered me.

When we are from different cultures and back grounds and the most important languages, it is quite easy to misunderstand the minds. Secondly, many insane people around us just want to mold the facts to make joke of it so that they can insult the people around them.

I don't hate "H" and I don't call Muslims "Mohamedans." I can't answer to you why others do that because it does harm to their arguments and statements on here. I don't always agree with what you say H, but I always appreciate your feedback and answers because they seem to be almost always well thought out. Peace be with you H.

Good Luck!!!

some ppl just get irritated if been told that they're not perfect ones, the result a sever attack on you! what i'm SURE of is that all those ppl answered aggressively, they all wrote about things they just heard or read , NONE have experienced been really in islamic(real ones) country. i'd suggest ppl who ever visited these 'real' islamic countries like : UAE, Bahrain,Qatar,Kuwait,Oman,Egypt,Lebanon,Syria,Jordan. to tell us about their point of view here, not those who talk from an empty mind!! unfortunately, media in the west concentrates on show' negatives in the name of Islam just because they happen in an Islamic( or so-called) countries. Moreover, been generalizing. do u think what happens in Afghanistan or in Saudi is the face of islam or it's same what happens every otherwhere that is muslim? if u think so then don't laugh at someone who'd think things are alike in Russia& the USA..! i do feel sorry that some ppl talk of ignorance& attract other ppl to think like them. All answers are given here are full of ignorance&makes one laugh from heart for what un-realistic images those ppl have in their mind about islam! really something sad how ppl talk without any knowledge! in brief, believe it or not: YES women in real islamic countries get absolutely better treatments than what westernern women in the west get. simple example: from UAE: i used to go to post, bank, pay bills..etc& because i'm a woman i NEVER ever needed to queu in the line, men will all give way for me to be the 1st to be looked after. why is it so? just because that society's values respect women & value them. will women get as this in the west with its values? definetly NOT!
