To all you who said that we walk around all day, let me ask you ... did your basket ball players go around on pogo sticks when they were kids? And to those of you who said something about us chasing food, HaHa very funny, better than sloggin out and getting fat at McDonalds, lazy asses. And the dude who said "desert sun" - you twit! The runners come from the highlands of Ethiopia. It's DENSE FOREST. Get your geography right ... or get a new head screwed on right!
Now, to get to the REAL reason we have the best runners it's because we come from a high altitude. Hence we grow up in a low oxygen atmosphere. When we go to any lower altitude city or country it's like being SUPER charged. I once went to London and a friend was showing me all the beautiful sites I noticed he had started to lag behind and was wondering what was wrong with him until I looked at my watch and noticed we had been walking for almost four hours non-stop... my heartbeat rate hadn't even increased.

one big thing, this is what my coach said, is that we go to school
the education is definitely an advantage but just think about how long we sit with a sloping back on desk
our spines have become different and yes, we do take granted whatever they fight to reach

Ethiopians have to work hard for everything we take for granted. i.e food and water. Also when they have a goal they work a lot harder than us british to achieve it!!!
