Basically, use veterinary products and stay away from store-bought ones! Collars, powders, bombs, shampoos = all useless wastes of money.

I recommend Frontline, Revolution or Advantage to treat your cat, and Indorex, Staykil, Acclaim or Skoosh to treat your house. Make sure the cat's treatment gets on her skin, not on her fur, or it can't work.

Get some Revolution, Advantage, Frontline, etc from your vet to treat your cat. The fleas should stop bothering your cat within 24 hours after application. To get rid of fleas from the house I suggest Raid bug foggers where you can find it at any store like Wal-Mart, Target, etc. Be sure to follow the directions and let the foggers do the business for about 2-4 hours before returning home and opening up the windows, turning on the fans, etc to air out your home and leave for another hour or more. The stuff is toxic to you and your pet, but once the house has been aired out you will be fine.

Be sure to put your cat in a kennel, or have some one take care of her at their house for a couple of days since cats are very sensitive and will not be happy with how the house smells... Plus if they eat any bugs that have been killed by the fogger they can become very ill.

the only way to get rid of fleas is to use Frontline Topspot (not frontline plus). Using this every month until the first frost comes and vacumming every day in cool dark areas should rid the fleas. Fleas will not be in sunny areas so no need to worry about those places but make sure to toss the vacuum bag every 2 weeks because that is how long the flea cycle is . Also, treat your cats for tape worms because fleas and tape worms go hand in hand. Good luck!

The only thing that worked for my cats was a flea comb. It took two days of combing them but it worked, and I keep them inside. For the house I used a flea bomb in each room.

it takes two steps. first, take your cats to the vet, or a groomer, and get them a flea dip bath, or a medicated bath, or some medication, to kill any fleas that are on them. while they're there, have them boarded there for 2 days or so. while they're out of your house, get your house sprayed. that way, everything is flea free. it costs some money, but it works the best.
