I am planing to buy a car through a third party on ebay. The car is a 2004 mazda RX8 ($14000) it is in Utah and I am in CA how much would I pay taxes for this car during registration at DMV?

Contact your local DMV for specific fee information. They will charge you whatever sales/excise tax and registration fees applicable in your area. It makes no difference that the car being bought is from Utah.

As mentioned many times on here... go to the "Cars/Trucks" section of your local Craigslist... see up at the top of the page, where it says (in BOLD print) "Offers to ship cars are 100% fraudulent!" ???? Click on that link. Look at all of the sample emails they have of scammers in action. Do they look familiar? After all, nobody would ever lie about being in the military, right? Yes, it's a scam. The "seller" is an overseas scam artist. You wire the funds, they are gone, no retrieval. Search this site for "craigslist scam"... see how many questions per day pop up just like yours. They were lucky enough to find out ahead of time. But, there are also those that wired the money and lost it... and are on here to complain how the "horrible soldier" scammed them.
