Ok everyone is very good saying put your clothes away dont hit your dog ,close your bathroom door , Well let me tell you ,MY DOG does the same thing !! She takes my underwear OUT of our wash basket which has a lid on it and then sits in her bed chewing , I have picked them up and said a stern NO to her but she doesnt realize because you have to catch her in the act otherwise she will think you are angry at her for nothing !! It is a difficult situation but i have read somewhere if you put pepper or something that will taste bad on a pair and plant them for her to take it will stop her , I am going to try this as for scolding your pet , I have to tap her on the nose but she can tell by my tone of voice if I am angry but once again you need to catch them in the act for any punishment !!

Why would you hit a dog? It is only doing what comes natural. Keep your clothes picked up and put sanitary napkins where the dog can't get to them. Dogs can learn by being told NO in a strong firm voice. Or by making a loud scary noise. Not by hitting them. They want to please you and all u need to do is raise your voice it will know you are not pleased. Hitting will only create a scared, confused and unhappy doggy. Maybe you should consider and obedience class. Could be fun for the both of you to do together.

Hitting, flicking, swatting, and other means of hurting your dog at all does absolutely nothing and I don't know why people think it does. A dog doesn't know what that means and will continue to do whatever it's doing. Use positive reinforcement. Whenever she doesn't do those things, praise her. Pick up after yourself and get trash cans with lids on them. It's not the dog's fault if you're leaving your stuff where it's easily accessible.

Uh gross! Who is dirtier....your dog or you? Buy a trash can with a lid so that your dog can't get to the sanitary napkins. Make sure the can is heavy enough so that he can't knock it over. Or close the door to keep him out of the bathroom. As per the clothes, get a hamper with a lid or leave the laundry basket in the closet and keep that door shut.

Next time your dog grabs a sock, underwear, or pad, hit yourself in the head with belt several times while repeating "I will pick up after myself, and keep garbage locked away"

**Edited to Add: I know this is a serious problem that could lead to more serious problems such as surgery requiring blockages.

What you fail to realize however is that the answer isn't hitting your dog. No wonder she growls at you, she feels threatened. You don't need to hit a dog to tell them No.

The real answer to this problem is keeping YOUR things picked up. But god forbid you should do that, that's right up there with learning how to properly train your dog, and apparently to dam hard for most people.

Okay, leaving the belt issue...place a mouse trap in the pile of clothing. When the pile of clothing is nudged, the trap will snap and the dog's startle reflex will cause it to jerk away. You may have to use 2 -3 traps in strategic locations, but they will not catch on the dog and will scare effectively.

i know you have heard this alot, but dont beat your dog. if someone finds out your dog can be taken away. your dog is snarling cause you hit it! if someone hit you with a belt you you would get pissed off too! put clothes away and put them in your closet or get baby proofing locks and stuff on dressers, and keep your bathroom locked up.
insted of hitting, try a water gun or a squirt bottle.

Stop beating your dog because you are leaving smelly things around. You are the one who needs to be flicked on the nose and beaten with a belt.

u should never hit your dog!!!!....try putting your underwear in the hamper so he cant get into it and then closing the bathroom door so he cant get into the garbage...your dog doesn't know why u are hitting him nor does he deserve to be treated that way

Easy answer...Clean up after yourself. You can't teach a dog to have good habits if you don't.
