1. You have to believe before you can understand. This way, no matter what you're told after you already believe, it won't make any difference, because you already believe. And no one can say it's wrong, because if they don't believe, they don't understand.

2. You cannot see god until you are dead, and if you don't believe before you're dead, it's too late. This way, no one will ever have to prove their claims, and people will be motivated to believe them "just in case."

3. Only a select few are allowed to speak for god, and it is only through their books that everyone else is able to hear what god has to say. How do we know god spoke through them? Because they said so.

4. If a claim in the holy book does not measure up to newly acquired knowledge, no problem. It instantly becomes a metaphor. This way it can never be wrong, because it's meanings can be changed.

1) Actually....you should not believe in something before you understand it. Would you sign a contract without reading it first? Or would you sign and then read later?

2) We who believe see God in others through their love and actions towards others. We do not have to wait to see God....He has given us the trees, sun, moon and stars. We are all warned of the consequences of not believing, so why blame Christians for telling you what you have the freedom to read and believe?

3) God chose those who He saw most worthy to write down the accounts for us to learn from and grow from. They were inspired by God to write it down...but the rest of us are inspired by God to spread what we have grown to know, understand and love.

4) The Bible has never changed, but all the newly acquired scientific knowledge has needed others to verify, add to it and give more detail to why it is. The Bible can be read by the same person over and over again and they will feel something different each time they read it...that does not mean that the Bible changed, just ther persons take on it has.

God bless :-)

2- You're still thinking "Pascal's Wager" which is utterly faulty,

and,

4- Most people (yourself included) simply cannot get their minds around the fact that the wording and semantics of biblical language are obviously not going to resonate well with a society 10,000 miles away and over 2,000 years later, unless they are willing to acknowledge this fact and work within those parameters to achieve an understanding of it. As it is, I have no problem understanding anything written from Genesis to revelation. Why do you?

Revised: 1. The only way to avoid eternal suffering is to have faith in everything I tell you. 2. If you ask for evidence of what I say, you don't have enough faith. 3. You can only have your reward after you are dead. 4. ??? 5. Profit!

Where's the question? Agree or Disagree? If you agree correctly enough you get best answer?
Totally uncool dude.
For the record, I agree with the message, but disagree with the delivery. Be creative, make it humorous and a real question. Writing an opinion flat out is a cop out.
