Put an ice cube or two on the dent. As it melts, the carpet will slowly absorb the moisture and swell a little bit. Blot dry with a clean towel. This trick works pretty well-give it a try.

I WORK IN THE CARPET INDUSTRY, WE USE A STEAM IRON TO REMOVE WRINKLES ETC . THIS SAME APPROCH IS USED BY CARPET INSTALLERS ON THE JOB SITE . NOTE THIS ALSO CAN BE DONE WITH FURNITURE CUSHIONS ETC . YOUR BED MATTRESS ETC .
