"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it."
Jesus also prayed like Muslims do, not only him but all the other prophets! Mashallah!:
Matthew 26:39 "And he (Jesus) went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

if you read ephesians 6:11-18 about the armor from God you would realize it is a spiritual armor, the sword jesus spoke of was spiritual warfare, remember he also said he who lifts up the sword will die by the sword (meaning if christians get involved in warfare are not his true disciples He also said you must love you enemies and do good to them, so how can you be killing them and doing good to them at the same time?)
the bible is called the sword of the spirit. he also said all will know you are my disciples if you have love among yourselves, love is long suffering and kind, does not get puffed up (self righteous) does not get provoked, does not seek one's own interests. 1 co 13:4-8 matt 5:44-48
it tears down or cuts up or slices away false teachings (you will know the truth and the truth will set you free) paul said our warfare is against the spirit forces in heavenly places. ehesians 6:12
as a result of tearing down falsehoods using the bible it would divide people, those who love truth and those who want to keep believing the lies. this would literally cause divisions, as hard as it is to be believed there are people who don't want to change even if they are breaking God's commandments, which incidently are for our benefit, because they are free moral agents, not because they are mentally ill, tho that might be the case for a few.
so being told the truth, it causes pain, resentment, the religious leaders in jesus day hated jesus, not because they thought he was a false prophet and were disgusted, but because precisly they knew he was the messiah and were afraid of losing their nation and wealth and power they had. they knew the scrolls they knew the propheices and bible chronology they knew what to look for. that is why jesus said they were candidates for gehena, a place of death where no resurrection occurs,
so people know the truth is just that the truth, but they hate it because it exposes their lifestyles as unapproved by God. it also causes division among people who don't understand it, I mean with so many cults and sects out there with their isolationists attitudes and suicide pacts some people get really afraid of this when their friend or family or whatever starts to develve into a different way that they aer not familiar with, and this is totally understandable.
But once these ones see that the bible truths do not advocate any of that stuff they calm down, (my family did) and realize it is a good thing and are happy for that one. jesus position by the way was reflection of his despair and not because the position itself means anything, many times prayer was standing up or kneeling God doesn't care about position he only cares about heart attitude.

No, you are seriously misintrepretting that passage. Jesus doesn't want religion to be extended through war. Analyse how the gospel was spread in those early centuries when the gospel was closely followed and you will see its all by persuasion, by power of the Holy Spirit, miracles and loving character.
Analzye mohammed and the early caliphs (and later caliphs) - there is a lot of violence that can't be denied. Arabia didn't follow him just because he was highly persuasive, he acted against those who wouldn't accept he was Allah's messenger. Who conquered Iraq, Persia, Egypt, Judaea, Egypt and North Africa in 30 years after M's death - muslim armies sent by the 4 first caliphs, who were all M's close companions and knew his desires and intent.
Its actually light and darkness in this area of comparison.

Okay.... first... what was meant by the 'sword' is the Word of God... otherwise known as the Holy Scriptures. Jesus meant that believers and unbelievers would turn against one another because you cannot serve the world and serve God at the same time.
and......... Jesus was suffering. He suffered greatly, but never lost sight that the Father had a purpose for Him. He wanted God's will to be done always.
See how much Jesus endured to pay for mine and your sins?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. AMEN

He means that being his follower would be hard. Because of our belief in Christianity, we should expect opposition... even from family members. That we should be willing to take a stand for our belief and should be willing to even die for our belief in the Lord. The Lord led by example and we too should be willing to follow the same path. He was telling us here that living as a Christian would be very hard.Christianity would cause division of ones household. If we are not willing to endure being rejected by mother, father, family members, and follow the Lord than we are not worthy of life eternal with Him. After all, a servant is no greater than his master. If they rejected and persecuted Christ, we should expect the same treatment. It is so true that the world does not love Christians, and sometimes even family members are against us. We have to make a choice who we will follow.....it should always be Jesus!

The Prophet never said he came to bring a sword.
He always said that he was a reminder to mankind.
Paralleling what the Quran said about him.
Also, what youre doing is un Islamic.
The prophet never compared himself to other prophets, or was in any effort to make himself look similar to them. Never will you read anywhere, how he said he was like previous prophets or different than them.
because in comparison and contrast, comes a single outcome: one is better than t he other.
Such a thing, wasnt even close to what the Prophet taught.
