Princessandrea: NO!! Do NOT touch the packet. Leave that to the trained staff. It may have motion detectors or other triggers inside.
Activate the Emergency handle/button as soon as possible to alert the train operator. Ask other people in the carriage to move away from the suspicious packet. It is better to have a false alarm than to do nothing.

It is very rude to keep your bags on the seat on a bus or train. Even if it's not busy I still don't keep my bag on the seat I put it on my knee. It is public transport so everybody has the right to take 1 seat. There is no need to ask you if they can sit down next to you it is a free seat that they paid for so they can sit in it if they want. If you don't like the fact that people will come and sit next to you then don't take public transport simple as. I think that is so so rude and if I were the train/bus driver I'd probably tell somebody who wouldn't give the seat next to them to get off. I've seen it done by a few bus drivers and I support it 100%.

I would prolly leave the station and take as many others with me that would come. Now I am no hero but I'd like to think I could yell from the top of the escalator to everyone. You know I'd get a head start so they wouldn't go crazy on my slow rump.
