Would you rather go to a school you hate for four years and have very minimal debt, or go to a college you like that is about 25k a year (for out of staters) and have to take out loans?

In some cases, yes, I would go for the college I like. However, it would be dependent on the starting salary for the career field. $100,000 for all four years is a large amount of debt to pay back in student loans. If you decide to go for your dream school, I recommend applying to all scholarships that you meet the criteria for consideration to help cut down on the need for student loans. The reason why I am anti large amount of student loans is that it could hamper you get a job with the trend of employers doing credit checks growing in number now. Why spend 4 years hating your situation? I'd go for the more expensive one and take out loans.

I would opt to stay in-state (you could still transfer to a different school if you hate the one you are at). Then, after you graduate, you could afford to move to the state you want to move to, and not have to move back in with your parents after graduation with all that debt over your head

I am in the same boat and am trying for the more expensive one but it's hard
