It's definitely a hard decision, but based on all her ailments, I would say it's time...I'm sorry...
Always remember the time you had with her and keep her in your heart until you get to the Rainbow Bridge - She'll be waiting for you!

Ken, you have to decide if the quality of life your dog is experiencing has diminished. If she has no quality of life then yes, it's time. I know it's heartbreaking, it's a very tough decision to make especially when you love your dog so much. What you need to do is take her into the vet and ask the vet if she is suffering at all. If the vet tells you yes then the kindest thing you can do is to put her down.
Only you can make that decision, but to be honest, your dog will tell you when it's time for her to go, look for the signs.
As heartbreaking and heart wrentching as it is do what's best for your dog.
I'm sorry that you have to make this decision I've been there and it's not easy.

This would probably be a good time to talk to your vet. My dog is 15 and in the same position. He has arthritis medicine that helps a bit but still has a lot of trouble. I know it's a very hard decision, but if the pain is intolerable for her surely you wouldn't want your dog to suffer. Maybe there is an alternative your vet can give you. I hope everything works out okay.

There has to be something that can help her, if you haven't already done so take her to the vet. I hope they can help you. We lost our Italian Greyhound to prostate cancer and I assume old age, he was 13 years old. By far the saddest day of my life. The only other advice I can give is do not let her suffer if there is nothing they can do. I held my IG in my arms while they put him down and even though it hurt worse than anything I ever experienced I know he was going to be pain free. First time I cried in 40 years.

Have you taken her to the vet? Maybe there is something cureable so you don't have to put her down. My dog acted like this and found out he had Lyme's Disease. With a few months of medication he was well again. 8 years old is not very old for a dog. I would ask the vet before making a serious decision like putting her down.
Good luck! I hope alll works out well for you.

Have you taken her to the vet for an evaluation? That's what I recommend. She could simply have some sort of illness that could be cured by antibiotics, or some other relatively cheap remedy. So no, I wouldn't have her put down just yet -- try to save her first. Hope it works out.

I am so sorry. It seems like if there is nothing that the vet can do for her at this point, the time has come to say goodbye. Since she doesn't seem to be enjoying her time here anymore and even moans don't let her suffer. Again...I'm so sorry.

It is always a tough decision. My heart goes out to you. It sounds as though your beloved pet has a poor quality of life at this time and is suffering alot. If it were my companion, I would have her put to rest and end the suffering.

The most heart breaking thing I have seen is for a dog owner to keep a pet alive and let it suffer because they can't let it go.
If your pet has been to a doctor and there is nothing else they can do, then please put her down. It sounds like her life is miserable at this point. Just remember the friendship and companionship she gave you for eight years.

You didn't say what breed of dog it is, but age 8 is pretty young to have to put it down. It sounds like he has serious health problems. Before doing something drastic, I would take it to your vet and have him examine it first..
Good Luck! I know it is hard to put one down, but sometimes it is the humane thing to do.
