I am particularly interested in seizures.

I have four pugs. After an application of frontline in May, one of my pugs began having seizures. I met another pug owner who had the same reaction after an application in May.

Reaction to Frontline is very rare, but it IS a drug that your dog comes in contact with, and therefor it can have any number of effects if your dog has a particular sensitivity.

To the answerer above, it DOES work, the fleas you saw on your dog after treatment are the fleas in the environment still jumping on. Putting Frontline on your dog kills ANY flea within a few hours of jumping on, but does not kill the fleas in the carpet, yard, furniture, or bedding simply by association.

I'd be surprised if Frontline had ever caused seizures, because it stays on the skin of the animal, it does not affect them internally. Even if they lick it it just causes hypersalivation. I've never know any reactions reported from use of Frontline.

Nice answer, whoever pointed out about fleas in the environment - this is the number one cause of people believing Frontline hasn't worked, because they haven't properly treated their environment!

No it's never bothered my dogs, however, if you put the wrong weight size on him it could cause problems due to poisoning. Make sure you get the correct weight for your dog. I've seen stupid people use dog flea medication on a cat and the use the wrong weight size (she used medication for a 50lb dog) the cat died of poisoning.

If you're concerned the vet does sell a pill for fleas given orally once a month.

I have used it. It didn't work for me either. I do notice that when I put it on Rigby she lays around for a day or so. I put the correct dosage (weight) on her.

No, but it didn't work on my dog, so I had to switch brands.
