Just a container or zip lock bag that is for the freezer, put the stew in when it's cool, if you use a bag squeeze the air out. Pop into the freezer.

If freezing in zip lock freezer bags( Zip Lock Brand) label bag fill with cooled stew' Suck out the air and freeze .If using rigid containers leave 1/2 inch space for expansion. Air is the villain with frozen foods .If your stew has potato's don't freeze . potato's do not freeze well they get mealy.

I just made some beef stew with sweet potatoes also in it. Will this freeze and then be just as good when served later?

Just make sure it isn't with a lot of air. We like to do this with chili, stew, soups: Get strong gallon ziplock bags, let the stuff cool a bit, and then scoop into the bag until nearly full. Let the air out and lay flat.

Cool it down a bit if it is right off the stove. Then ladle into ziplock freezer bags or good quality tupperware-type containers. I like the harder plastic ones that are stain resistant. Make sure the seal on bags or containers is tight.

you can do it any number of ways but the best i think is to stick in in a freezer safe Tupperware container, then when you want to eat it take it out and run it under hot water and pop it out and put it in a bowl or right into a pan on the stove, or even the low setting on a slow cooker

or you can use freezer safe zip lock bags, and you can pop that right into a pot of boiling water to heat it up!

either way you don't want to OVER fill Remember things expand when they freeze , and you also want to squash out as much air as you can

AND IF YOU REALLY WANTED TO YOU COULD BUY ONE OF THE VACUUM STORAGE SYSTEMS!

Fill - making sure you have all air out.
