Yes, absolutely. In fact, if you have a tiny kitten that has not been weaned yet and you are nursing it, you have to burp it. That's one of the reasons mother cats lick their kittens all over while and after they are nursing. They are burping them. I got a kitten once that was only 6 weeks old and I had to feed him warm goat's milk and then hold him upside down and gently rub his tummy to burp him and he would come up with some huge belches for such a tiny, fuzzy little kitten! It was hilarious!

Do Cats Burp

So this cat owner heads in to the vet stating that his cat is burping and hiccuping often. He was told by his vet that it is more likely a heart or digestion issue since cats can't burp. A second vet agrees and explains the noises made that sound like burps are more related to regurgitation or trying to extract a hairball.

RE:
Can cats burp?

I've had a cat for almost 6 years, and I've never heard a burp or a fart (except when she's in the box).

We took a trip with her, and the first 10 mins, she always has to poop. She's not a good traveler, unfortunately. So she poops and all of us are gagging, so my daughter, 16, grabbed the pooper scooper, opens her door and throws it out. We were all hysterical because we were so desperate because the smell was overwhelming. We began to imagine scenarios where the poop could be used as ammo against people who were being aggressive in their driving, etc. A little poop on the windshield might be just the thing.

I'm sorry stupid little family story.

No, cats don't burp, at least not audibly.
