What faith are Boy Scouts? (I heard Mormon) Is not the same for Girl Scouts. Do you think they should go talking to children about Sex or God. Do the scout leaders have sex and religious training to address these issues? Also How are they allowed publicly funded property and Money for these bigoted acts.

The Boy Scouts enjoys massive and unique tax-funded support from governments both local and federal. On the local level, for example, the city of San Diego was targeted because it allowed the Boy Scouts' headquarters to operate in a city-owned park for $1 per year and to use other city-owned facilities without any rent.

Because BSA is run by twisted homophobic theists. It's a public reflection of their bigotry. The it's-the-rules tap dancers above are denying the facts, as usual.
BSA National Council: "Scouting does not accept atheists and agnostics as members or adult volunteer leaders."
BSA spokesman Gregg Shields: "If one doesn't agree with the Boy Scout belief system, then perhaps boy scouting is not for that person."
Public funding for this group is thoroughly disgusting.
ADDENDA
"All organizations have rules. You join the group; you follow the rules. It's really simple."
I suppose you still support segregated country clubs, service organizations, police forces, etc.? The hypocrisy is palpable.

excuse me, but I would like to provide a calm unbiased answer here...
as a counseler at a BSA summer camp i can easily answer this.
#1 BSA is not affiliated with 1 religion, we encourage the scouts to worship their own god in their own way, all religious services are inter-faith/non-denomonational... All troops a chartered to a certain organization (yes usually a church, never a school or army base nor antyhing public) now it is true that mormons make up the largest group, because the youth groups in mormon temples often a scout (boy or girl) troop
#2 All leaders, adults older scout etc. learn and adhere to rules of Youth Protection, the BSA's program that educates leaders on how to approach such subjects.. for example a scout over 18 may not be alone with any number of boys under 18 without another leader.
#3 as much as it pains me that you call an organization that has given me so much,a bigoted one I should say that BSA is given NO public money or land. this is why troops are forced to be chartered to private organizations. scoutings only funding comes through private donations in the form of FOS (friends of scouting) businesses and individuals donate
and the occasional chritmas tree sale or whatever. in which case the consumer is fully informed that they are supporting BSA

This is sort of funny because I'm a gay agnostic in scouting.
The issues are never really brought up.
Basically, scouting, officially supports beliefs in any higher power(s). (Not just Christianity) But individual troops are given a high degree of latitude, and their position is understandable given that churches sponsor most troops.
Yeah I say as part of the oath to "God and my country" and I also say during the pledge "under God", and one of the points of the scout law is "reverent." Doesn't mean I believe it, and we never talk about it otherwise.
It's a shame that scouting doesn't allow openly gay leaders. Openly gay people are not any more likely to molest children than heterosexuals. But, like I said, Scouting relies on churches for a place to meet, and they can't afford to disagree with them.
Anyway, scouting isn't a public forum on God and sexuality. The troops are simply asked to not talk about it, and don't make a scene about it, and they'll leave you alone, lest the religious types get it a fit. Sort of like the military's don't ask don't tell policy, except perhaps more appropriate since it's a private organization.

BSA has went down a sad path the last few years. Other country's boy scout rules did not follow the same path, nor do the Girl Scouts.
They have been forbidden from receiving public funds due to this. Tis sad they chose to be so bigoted and backwards.
If they want to keep their members safe from peodophiles, they need to outlaw hetrosexual troop leaders since 98% of peodophiles are hetrosexual.

The Boy Scout oath includes God and country. Probably a person could do the oath without believing in it, if inclined.
I don't believe they ask whether a boy's homosexual before allowing him to be a member.

All organizations have rules. You join the group; you follow the rules. It's really simple.
If you don't like it, don't join the group.
Organize a Gay, Atheist Boy Scout Club if you're anxious to be a Boy Scout.

Publicly funded ? I don't believe so. Regardless, the Boy
Scouts have their rules, as do the Elks, Masons, B.P.O.E.
and most other organizations. The "Indian Guides" is a
similar boys organization that you might try.

You are one truly ignorant person. First, you do not have to believe in God to be a Boy Scout, just not get offended if religion is brought up. Second, is it wise to have gay troop leaders around little boys?. It is pathetic when people like you trash the church because they had gay priest abuse boys, yet attack the Boy Scouts because they want to prevent it.
