Note-I study both science and theology. I was born into a Roman Catholic house hold. (Not really, we did sometimes go to church but my parents believe in science and let me study whatever theology I wanted as long as it wasn't a cult or something like that. I do study science to get a soild fact on somethings.)

Well, my religion is Judaism, but we do not believe that others have to join in order to attain whatever "salvation" they believe exists.

This is because according to Judaism, every single person is born with a pure soul straight from God, and not in "Original Sin" which is a twisted Christian misinterpretation of the story in our Torah.

Since every person is born with a clean pure soul straight from God, we believe it is what people do, through their thoughts, speech, and actions AFTER they are born that determines whether they blemish their clean souls or not. It is up to each person, it is personal responsibility, and free will choices.

For anyone who blemishes their soul, there is in Judaism, reincarnation. We do not have the "burning in eternal hellfire and torture" that Christianity has, we never have had this. Where it says in English translations "hell" in our Torah, it does not say that in Hebrew.

So, what is "hell" in Judaism is after we die and we realise fully and understand and FEEL every single pain we ever caused anyone, and we are so sorry and so sad that we did that, and it is so very painful to feel ourselves the exact pain that we caused others (and ourselves) at that time...and we sit and suffer through each incident and feel each and every time....and this can take a long time, or it can take a short time depending on how much pain we caused. This is also how we cleanse ourselves, our souls.

By experiencing this pain we caused, we understand completely the ignorance we had that we chose to do these things, and then we are sincerely repentent, and ask forgiveness, and then we are able to emerge from that state with much more compassion, understanding, kindness, and caring for ourselves, our world, and other people.

So this way we are able to cleanse ourselves and come back on a higher spiritual level than before, and keep moving higher and higher spiritually that way through each lifetime.

The guidelines give to people by God for living lives that will show us how to live compassionately and kindly are found for Jews in the Torah, in the 613 Torah laws. Unlike what Christianity incorrectly teaches about Jews living by the law -- that we do it because we are trying to get into heaven by "deeds" -- we live by those laws because they are, for us, the best guidelines to create and live in a fair, just, kind, compassionate and lawful society. By doing so, we also prevent ourselves from causing others and ourselves pain, so that we are careful to cause the least amount of blemish to our souls as well.

The paths for Righteousness were also given to the non-Jews by God on Mt. Sinai, same as the Torah laws were given to the Jews. These are called the 7 Noahide Laws, or the 7 Universal Laws. These laws are found in every society, in every culture in the world in one form or another, both past and present. The Jews must also follow these laws as well, but in addition we have others that we also must follow. This is because we are to be the teachers -- this is what being "chosen" means to us, that we are to be the teachers, so we are much more restricted and held to a tighter standard, just as a teacher in a classroom is held to tighter standards regarding her teaching classes, for the benefit of her students.

Christianity has always taught that being "chosen" means that we think we are better than others. For us, being "chosen" means what I've just written above, and also it has meant a lot of murder and prosecution by those who do not understand what it means and think it means we think we are better than others. In fact, the opposite is true, we feel we are the janitors of the world as well as the teacher.

So, if I were to give you advice on what to study to learn more about what Judaism has for non-Jews, then I would recommend some books and websites concerning Noahides, those who follow the 7 Noahide Laws. These are the paths for the Righteous Gentiles to merit their place in the World To Come. This is why nobody must convert to Judaism in order to merit their place in the World To Come. It is not necessary. Everyone has their own path, which is right for them. So, if you would like to study more about this, here are some references for you:

You are probably noticing that there is nothing in Judaism for Jews or non-Jews to "get to God", or to "get to heaven" through a Messiah who is sacrificed for sin. That's because there is no such concept in Judaism. There never has been. Christianity brought this in from ancient pagan religions.

The Messiah in Judaism is wholly human, born of a Jewish married man and woman in the usual way, grows up, marries, has sons to whom he leaves an inheritance, rules from the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem, and fulfills all the prophecies in his lifetime. He is not worshipped, because only God is worshipped and the Messiah is a man. He is not part god/part man, born of a virgin (this is a deliberate Church mistranslation into English of the word ALMAH which does not mean virgin, it means young woman. BETULAH means virgin, and is NOT the word used.)

It is also idolatry in Judaism to place anything (including a man) in front of God to have to go through to GET to God. We believe that everyone, Jew or not, is capable of anytime they choose, to have direct contact with God. Our souls, themselves, are directly breathed into us all from God and are God's Essence - we do not need to go through anyone or anything to have contact with God, we carry it within us always.

The way that non Jews have to Righteousness is the paths of the 7 Noahide Laws. For Jews, the 613 Mitzvot. Not by a human/god virgin pagan blood sacrifice for sin that Christianity has created for itself in the form of their human blood sacrifice messiah.

So you can see there are already many differences between Judiasm and Christianity just in what I've described. There are many more.

You'll find if you look further into the links I gave you that there really is almost nothing the same in the foundational doctrines of Judaism and Christianity. Most Christians don't know that. Most Jews do.

As for holidays, we have one almost every month lol. Too many to list here. You can look them up if you like on the http://www.jewfaq.org website link.

Hope this has contributed to what you were asking, and has been a good education in basic Judaism. Thanks for the opportunity.

Not a theology but a philosophy. Humanism is a philosophy of life inspired by humanity and guided by reason. It provides the basis for a fulfilling and ethical life without religion.
• Humanists make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values.
• Humanists see no convincing evidence for gods, the supernatural, or life after death.
• Humanists believe that moral values are properly founded on human empathy and scientific understanding.
• Humanists believe we must live this life on the basis that it is the only life we'll have -- that, therefore, we must make the most of it for ourselves, each other, and our world.
Humanist philosophies have arisen separately in many different cultures over many thousands of years. Whether or not they use the term humanism, tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of people around the world agree with the humanist philosophy of living a happy and productive life based on reason and compassion.

My beliefs are more spiritual and though I do believe in the bible and Jesus I'm not so sure that I can be called a 'Christian'.

I have done much research over the years and read many books, too many to mention here. There is truth in the bible, however you need to understand that certain books were written for a specific person or groups of people, take for example the instructions given to the Levite priests in Exodus. These are not instructions for ALL of us, just for them. Just because something in the Bible isn't relevant to us here in now doesn't make it unimportant.

I believe in reincarnation because that makes the most sense to me. We are spiritual beings and we are on a mission to better ourselves and those around us. Many ancient holy books (including the bible) talk of differnet levels in heaven, how then could one ascend to another plane or level? What would be the point of living once and dying to spend eternity in either Hell or Heaven just hanging around...doen't make sense to me, especially for those who have been mislead or given wrong information. God is just and merciful, I beleive that he would give us a chance to make better choices next time....isn't that what a loving human father would do? God is much more just and loving than ANY human father.

Just talk to God with a sincere heart and ask him to lead you not people. If you ask people to lead you than you will always be let down.

Many blessing to you on your journey. Namaste.

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Biblical objective of a shew written aforetime for learning,
is to "know" the truth, rather than to believe the lies (laws).
Know the truth makes you FREE of believe any of the lies.

YE shall know the truth, and the truth shall make YOU free.
There is no option in it, but a chanGe, from "ye" to "you".
Ye: do err, greatly and alway... via law vs law: loser vs loser
You: made perfect, stablished, settled...via God of all grace

The entire kingdom of God is located within YOU (not ye).
Ye are told: go and learn what Hosea 6:6 means: Mt 9:13.

In the end, already written, the "you all" begins with "you":

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Rather than talk about 'basic studies and holidays' which are all peripheral to the message of Christianity, I will direct your attention to Jesus Christ, Who is the PITH of Christianity.

Christianity may be summed up in two statements:

1. Jesus Christ was Crucified, and Resurrected from the dead.

2. That Crucifixion and Resurrection (together sometimes simply referred to as THE PASCAL EVENT), somehow means my salvation.

For "It is His Name and Fath in His Name" which brings salvation. "What is it then? The Word of salvation is very near you; in your own heart; even in your own mouth! For if you believe in your heart that the Lord Jesus rose from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord, you WILL BE SAVED. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

I'm a pastafarian. Sept. 19 is our only holiday at present (talk like a pirate day). We teach that when you die, you get a beer volcano and a stripper factory.

You should study it, because, come on, don't you want a beer volcano and a stripper factory?

How much do you know about basic science? Because that is what my new theology is now based on.

There is only ONE God, and He is our creator. This life is a test, to determine where we will go after we die. Unlike Christianity, Muslims believe that we are accountable for our own actions (and not salvaged from punishment because of somebody else's action).

I tell you the truth, one who tells you that s/he knows and tries to teach you that knowledge is a fool. Yet, one who tells you that s/he does not know anything is the wise person that has told you everything that you need to know.
