The whole place seems to be so Christian vs almost everything else.

what about the Shamen, the Druids, the Scientologists, the Pantheists, the Dionysians (am I that lucky) - come out of the woodwork dammit!

Are you here?

And...if it isnt too much trouble, tell a little of what your belief means to you, and why you hold it.

Yes Im Native American and more a believer of Gaia and Mother Earth, so close to a wiccan but not quite.

You are correct, it does appear that way, I just started in this section and noticed it immediately. I did see another martial artist like myself that is also native american and pagan, so we are not alone.

And yes i consider Atheist a part of the group too. Atheist are not bad people at all, Christians give them such a bad rap. I know so man atheist from East Europe. They have no concept of god and religion and they are happy content people and I hardly doubt they will burn in hell because they do not believe. If that were to be true that would be a very cruel and vengeful god indeed.

Many of the others you mention are here but they are often bullied it seems by the Christians, just because the title says Religion and Spirituality did not mean CHRISTIANS ONLY. It is for every one who has a question on the subject be they a theist or a non theist or an atheist or poly theist.

I wish Y!A would stop the thumpers more and allow a more equal forum, they should do away with the voting thumbs up and down first of all, that just breeds more anger and hate when people see thumbs down, and they seem to love doing it to us so i think Y!A needs to take more responsibility and change somet things like remove the thumb up and down or leave it so only the ASKER of the question can vote up or down as to if it was helpful. Maybe a rating of 1-5 would be better and rate someones answer on a scale versus a thumbs up and down and then of they choose no one then instead of going to a vote which can be so rigged with multiple accounts, I have seen this too. This could then mathematically calculate who got the best number of ratings and that is who is choses as best answer if one is not choses by the asker.

That is just two things I would change in here to give it a more equal forum for us and all.

IT amazes me that they scream free will, but if we practice it and it is not in their belief we are thumbed down and told we will burn. How more rude can you be to someone just trying to answer a question. I wish Y!A could do something about the zealouts too!

good luck, I agree with you but i do not see Y!A doing much about it for us.

The two main groups are here are Christians and Atheists. Then you have some Muslims, Buddhists and quite a few Pagans of various sorts. A lot of the Pagans stopped posting because they got it from everyone - the Christians for not following Jesus and the Atheists for believing in "fairytales"

I'm an earth witch - close to Wiccan. My beliefs are part of me and cannot be separated from me.

Atheist and looking...or would that be Agnostic? As for lurking, I've asked my religious questions on here, and I had some people who were willing to debate, some who were very antagonistic and some who agreed with me all too readily.
As for how I came to be this way, I was put into my churches Confirmation Class and I took a hard look at the Bible and decided that I did not believe all the spiritual magic involved. I did not believe in the resurrection and that pretty much sealed the deal for me. I renounced my faith in my Statement of Faith that they made us write (it was a class so there were assignments) and have been looking for a path to believe. Right now I claim to be an Atheist, but I am always willing to listen to people who wish to tell me something of their religion, provided they are willing to listen to me as well.

Heathen Recon here.
I follow the old Norse Gods of my ancestors. I honor my ancestors and my elder kin. It's hard polytheist. There is a lot more but I am really too tired to get into right now.

I'm Pagan. And I don't lurk around here. I'm quiet active around here!

Right now, I'm looking for something to believe. I've always been fascinated by the Greco-Roman pantheon, so I'm studying that right now.

Hindu Buddhist here. It brings me peace and makes me feel want to share this peace with others. Not by trying to convert but by words and actions.
