They don't have any scripture to show you, to back up their assertions. Some will tell you that everyone goes to heaven. Some will say only catholics go. You'll find everything in between as well. You'll find homsexual catholics, you'll find wiccan catholics, you'll find agnostic catholics. You'll find catholics that reject some things and accept others.

Amazing how they say the "protestants" are broken up into groups, yet the catholics might have more fringes.

Neither matters, though. Only by believing that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again, without our own works added, can we be saved.

I have heard the name of Jesus and honor him as a spiritual ancestor as I do Buddha, Krishna etc. I was a Catholic for 27 years and decided that it was not the right path for me. So, if you'd like to throw me in hell then so be it. I don't think this is a very open-hearted question. Me: Buddhist/Hindu

Why thumbs down? You asked a question and I gave you an honest answer. This is why I skipped out yesterday. Just tired of the hatred. Best to all of you anyhow, I really mean that. Many Blessings and Namaste (my entire family of origin are all practicing Catholics and I respect and love them very much)

Yes.

The Catholic Church believes that those who die never hearing of Christ but have sought the truth and does the will of God as they understand it can be saved. See Romans 2:13-16.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1257-1261: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2.htm#art1

With love in Christ.

CCC 847 - "Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience—those too may achieve eternal salvation."

EDIT: As usual, CJ is lying. That is NOT what the Church teaches. CJ: It is not nice to lie on the Lord's Day

An Inuit hunter asked the local missionary priest: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?"

"No," said the priest, "not if you did not know."

"Then why," asked the Inuit earnestly, "did you tell me?"
