The Army age cut off is 42 with TIS ( time in service ) subtracted from your age you would have to be 52 to be ineligible to join the Army. Not sure what the cut off is for the Navy, the Marine is 32, Air Force not sure of either.

Check each branches wed site for age cut off.

You can't join the Coast Guard. Honestly, you are too old. the cutoff is 27 just like the Air Force. You can't get a waiver for age. The CG have quite a low recruitment goal and will turn away anyone that needs a waiver. Also, you are considered prior military since you are currently in the Army national CGuard. Th CG like the AF does not accept prior service. Sorry, try the Active Army.

I don't see why not. The Navy gives them old ships so its about time the Army gave them something old too... just kidding, it was too tempting to pass up.
Anyway, you have a skill that the Coast Guard can put to good use, so I say give it a shot.
Good luck and thanks for the service you've already given to our country.

I've seen an Army Armor officer (1Lt) resign his commission and then enlist in the Coast Guard. I think they allow him E-5 upon completion of USCG basic tng [?]. SInce the USCG doesn't have tanks, they trained him in the medical field. Good luck.

your Guard unit would have to agree in writing to cut you loose. and the CG would have to be taking Prior Service. and right now, they aren't taking any at all.

Trust me you can go. Even easier if your contract is about up. Full time always is over part-time. I am looking into it. just i have a hard time wearing another uniform.
