you hear about these people whose heartbeats had stopped then were revived ten minutes later (or whatever) does that mean the soul was always with them? or it left and came back? just trying to get my head around this (presuming souls exist, and they do depart when dead). thanks for your help :)

There's no such thing as a "soul", so the question is meaningless.

There is no soul separate from a person. Here's proof :

1. 1 Peter 3:20 says, "Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."
a) If the soul was some indestructible part of a person, why would it need to be saved from drowning ?
b) the soul IS the person.

2. 1 Corinthians 15:45 says, "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit."
a) Adam was MADE a soul, not given one.

3. Joshua 11:11 says, "And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire."
a) Notice that the soul can be killed by the edge of the sword.
b) The soul is the person, not a separate part of a person.
c) the soul dies.

The Soul leaves the body in a flash of a millisecond. When their physical body is brought back to life. The Soul then re-enters the body at the same previous speed. It is like turning a light switch on and off, alternating between your physical body and your spirit body.

And what will make you more intrigued is that you are living two realities at once. You live in your physical body in this world and you are also living another reality in the spirit realm at the same time. Multi-dimensional realities are the key to understanding how the Soul interacts with God and the Universe.

Good morning....I'm not a professional or a minister of the faith but I am a Christian. My personal belief is that once we die our soul or spirit leaves our body immediately. Now where it goes from our body is questionable. Some believe that the soul goes to a different realm so do speak or plane. Others believe that the soul goes immediately to heaven or hell. Spiritualists believe that some souls or spirits have unfinished business here on earth and they remain till they find the light or they remain on earth because of guilt and earth is like a hell so do speak. Who actually knows. Some religions believe that after one dies their soul goes through different levels to get to heaven. It all depends on ones belief and their religion. Have a very blessed day.

That article is blanketed in different mysteries like the vibrant gentle interior the womb on the right time of fertilization/theory and the puzzle on the three factors of the human DNA that maintains to be unidentified with the aid of scientists.

The soul doesn't leave until the body has died. If a person is revived, it means they were never dead -- which means the soul never left.

The soul immediately leaves the body upon death. People who have been clinically dead but have been revived say that their souls left their bodies and they could see what was going on in the hospital room.

I think it's not totally automatically but once your body dies it then starts to leave and if revived then you just come back.

Hm. I am thinking when the brain dies. I don't think people come back from brain-dead. True you can keep the body alive after that, but I don't think there is any recovery from brain dead.

They could have been pronounced dead but they are only dead if God is ready for them to leave this earth. Once he is ready there is nothing man can do and their soul will leave at that time just as God tells us in the Bible.
