I've never heard anything to make me think that is true. Do Buddhists and Hindus have a Moses story???

There was no connection between Hindus or Buddhists (the daughter religion that arose from Hinduism a thousand years after it began).
Correction: Hinduism began in the Hindu Kush (foothills of the Himalayas near Pakistan) in the Neolithic era (the new stone age), not during the Exodus. The name of the religion is the Sanatana Dharma, meaning the eternal law of the Saints. It is the oldest religion in the world and has been extant since before Judaism. It hails from the longest running civilization in the world, longer than the empire of Egypt and the current age we live in. I am a yogin and have studied the Sanatana Dharma and Sanskrit for the last 8+ years. BTW, Latin arose from Sanskrit if you study the language tree. Check your anthropology. And read Georg Feuerstein if you want to know about the roots and history of the Hindu lifestyle (it is not an "ism" or religion, nor is it polytheistic as has been proclaimed by Christians) and the origins of the Vedas and the Vedanta (upanishads). He is a renowned scholar of Sanskrit and the History of the Asian subcontinent. The faith of the Hindus is the most misunderstood in the world. It takes a lot of research to correct the misnomers.

Not according to the conventionally accepted version of history. Hinduism supposedly already existed in its Vedic form by that time.
Buddhism arose out of Hinduism at a later time. It doesn't seem to have any obviously Egyptian or Hebrew elements in it that would indicate any sort of origin or influence from those cultures.
Were you thinking they might have been one of the lost tribes of Israel? I think I have heard that there was a small group of people living somewhere on the Indian subcontinent that were maybe a remnant of one of the lost tribes. However, it was just a small group that practiced a faith different than either the Hindus or the Buddhists. I don't recall what they were called unfortunately.

Assuredly not. Hinduism started on the Indian subcontinent around the time of the Exodus. Now unless one of those brand new Hindus decided to take a 4,000 mile jog one day, it is terribly unlikely they were in Egypt in time for the Exodus event. Buddhist started many centuries later, so unless one of the early Buddhists had discovered the secret of time travel.........
