and reading scripture. I was recently reading 2 different books on spiritual beliefs and was VERY confused and distraught. The radio softly playing in the kitchen tuned to a country station and I was standing in my living room when I just fell to my knees and sobbed my heart out and I asked God to help me find the truth and I quoted Matt. 6:8 "For everyone who asks recieves, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened "Or what man is there among you, if his son asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?" and as I cried out to God I said "Please, please Lord, lead me to the truth which of these paths are correct? Here I am on my knees knocking on the door and seeking the truth....I know that you are my father will answer my prayer but I only doubt my ability to see the truth Lord, please open my eyes to the truth." and at that moment I noticed the radio was quiet....

then it started playing a song on an oldies station which just happened to be the name of the one of the authors I was reading. This song was an unusual name, it is like hearing the song "Hey there Delilah" (that was not the title though)

I know how I feel about this incident, but what would YOU feel had the same thing happened to you? Would you believe it was a sign that that particular book was more correct or would you just say that is was all a very cool coincidence?

I was in a similar situation, and I prayed in a similar way that you did, not on my knees, but the words I used were similar ones, my prayer was answered very quickly but at that time I did not realise it, the truth was brought to me shortly after I prayed but I did not see it straight away when it happened, even so I did respond accordingly, to the truth being delivered to me, I accepted a Bible study that was offered to me, and I did learn the truth, now, I know, that my prayer, was answered.(Matthew6:8) is certainly a good verse reassuring you that God answers prayers (sincere ones of course) and you can rest assured that he will answer your sincere prayer too, especially if you have faith that he will. Keep on asking, to confirm to God, that you really mean it, and that you want the truth, and, pray to the true God, you will receive your answer, I'm sure of it if you are sincerely looking for the true path, keep knocking on the door, remember it might be the other way around in the end. May the true God bless your efforts, to get to know him, and to build a relationship with him!(Numbers6:24-26)

WOW! You prayed a very good prayer! I think you put it better words than I did when I needed to know the same thing. But radio stations often "go dead" when there's someone sleeping at the controls or for any number of reasons. I remember praying and asking for a sign one night and as soon as I finished my prayer I looked up and saw a falling star! I was deeply moved at the time. But then again, falling stars happen all the time...and so does dead air on the radio.

But I believe God has heard your prayer and will be faithful to answer it.

I think it was God telling you that He was listening. Maybe you could change your radio channel to a Christian station once in a while. It's amazing how so many things on that channel match what is going on in your life. I'm not saying don't listen to your country channel, just know that when you have moments like that you can change the channel and see if a message is being sent that way. It's very comforting to feel answers through music.

I don't put a lot of faith in feelings.. It is said that Satan can appear as an angel of light 2 Cor 11:14.. If that can happen how hard would good feelings be to imitate? Don't get me wrong I love spiritual feelings as much as anyone else I just don't count on them to lead me to God.. If you want truth look to Jesus Christ. He is the truth and He is there waiting for you to come to Him. He won't force you, but still the gift of eternal life is in Him and He wishes to give it to you.. What must you do... ASK, in faith in Him and it's yours.... IHS Jim

their are two possibilities

1 this story is made up, for obvious reasons once in prayer if you are really into it you will hardly notice any of the things you mentioned like the silence of the radio. or something like such.

2 your being sincere, and if you are have you ever heard of the saying their is wisdom in silence? Of course not because I just made that up just now but, my point is the sign of silence is a sign itself, also whats a sign if you were really sincere about the prayer you will probably feel better. and that feel better sense is a sign God has heard you. but im not God either.

Well, why not try reading the Bible which contains real words of God. Then, tell us what had God trying to give you a hint again ? Cos , me too had the experience of felling to my knees and cry my heart out to Him.

I have had all kinds of synergistic things happen to me. There is so much synergy in my life that I have come to the conclusion that coincidences are rare. They occur too frequently to be a coincidence. There are many ways that God speaks to us and offers confirmations for our prayers and thoughts.

it sounds like it was one of those 'special moments' with God... i've never had anything like that happen before... but don't doubt the power of Him... b/c i have seen Him work in the lives of many people who i thought for sure were hopeless... just trust in Him to open your heart towards Him... it sounds like you are really wanting this... but even more than you want to be opened to Him, He wants you to be too.... He's amazing... more amazing than any person you will ever encounter... and in the end, He's the only one that will have been there for your after it all, even though sometimes we dont recognize Him.... hope things go great...

The other night I was riding down the road on my bike, with my earphones blaring Metallica, and I noticed that for a stretch of 6 street lights, as I was passing one street light, it would go off. It came on again as I passed by and the next one went off at the same time. On and on for 6 lights.

Quite spooky. Coincidence.
