Is there something we can do for Halloween that is not wrong? I have got a one year old child and I want to know if there is anything we can do to have some good clean fun together?

I don't really want to take her trick or treating, It will develop a sweet tooth if I introduce her to candy at such a young age. Any other suggestions?

Dressing your children up as ghouls, vampires and demons cannot be pleasing to God and cannot be Christian, the modern day concept of halloween is becoming more satanic and if Christian people had more backbone they would refrain from this paganistic practice but unfortunately most have not.
Go and celebrate the great feast of Gods Saints and have a picnic or some other recreation instead.

At our church we always have an alternative halloween party for the kids. You could get some of your friend's kids together and have a party in the theme of some of their favourite cartoon characters of something. This would avoid the odd ones turning up as witches and such.

Wow. How wrong is it that you are going to rob your child of the joy of halloween because you think it is the Devil's holiday.

It is a day set aside for honoring our beloved dead (done malinia ago before Memorial day).

Take the kid trick or treating. People who are handing out candy are doing it with love in their hearts, more often than not.

There's not much that's wrong unless you are worshipping the devil or participating in pagan practices.... costumes and costume parties and collecting candy are not sin. God is all powerful and does not stay behind His throne cowering on Halloween or any other day as some may think. There will be enough things you will have to say 'no' to, don't make the little stuff a big deal.

There is enough disappointment and hate in the world. Why turn a perfectly innocent holiday (in today's world) and turn it into some kind of "religious" taboo. If you don't want to go out trick or treating why don't you have a party yourself? Popcorn balls, bobbing for apples, scavenger hunts for treats in the yard or your home can be lots of fun for kids of all ages. At age one you can even skip the holiday this year....frankly your child is too young to do really do anything or realize what's going on. Put up a few decorations and hand out candy with him or her. That will be enough fun this year...

What happens on Halloween for most people has nothing to do with devil worship or even non-Christian activities. It even has nothing to do with the ancient Christian traditions of doing penance and attending Mass on All Saint's Eve.

It's just a time for children to have a little fun dressing up in costumes and gorging on candy. I hardy think your child will go to hell for dressing up like a pirate or a fairy princess

I am a Christian and my parents were also they let us go trick or treating. There are some churches that have Haloween parties also. If you are in a safe neighborhood dress your child up like a duck, or princess or something and take him or her trick or treating.

Anyone who sees anything "wrong" with the tradition of celebrating Halloween needs to get a life.
