As mentioned cost is a big factor. The most solid and reliable 3 would be Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Nissan Altima. All of theses are available, new or used, and in both standard and sporty models, and in the case of the newer Altima, a v6 can be had if you like to pass a lot.
I have driven a 2001 Corolla for 3 years and so far only minor repairs. Change your oil regularly for best chance at reliability, and always keep an eye on your tires if you do not want to crash.

oh lol you do not have that many suggestions with $1300.. you will get an olddd nissan maxima which isn't badd. sucks you dont have that plenty for itt :( perhaps you could hire or finance for some thing greater applicable I actual have a hire on a unfold Rover activity andd i like it. in spite of the undeniable fact that it expenditures as much as you will desire to spend to hire it everryy month so yeah lol :P stable success!!
