any of the above can be served with a big salad and garlic bread, or the Mexican food with rice and beans :)

Chicken and potatoes with veggies and warm bread/butter.
Cook the chicken and potatoes together (cut up chicken pieces and cut up the taters too), drizzles with a dash of olive oil if you have it, season with salt, pepper, paprika and ROSEMARY (a must) but if you don't have it use SAGE.
Then boil rice, in chicken stock preferrably, or when it's boiled drain the water out and add a can of mushroom soup and stir it up.
Boiled/steamed veggies of any kind, salt and butter it.
If you want to make a roast, add water to the pan and a beer (yes beer...if you don't have it water is fine!), add a few onions and cook at 325 in the oven for about 1.5 hours or until roast is browned, flip it and brown on the other side, don't let water run out. Use the juices to make gravy. I usually add BISTO gravy mix, a few spoons to thicken. Use corn starch or flour (dissolve in a bit of cold water THEN add to the drippings. Cook it on the stove top till it's thickened.
I boil potatoes and add the potatoes to the gravy and let it cook together but you can just serve the gravy with the sliced roast and taters.
Again I usually boil broccoli, drain, add velveeta to it, and boil a few carrots as well to serve with it. Don't forget the onions in the gravy, scoop them and the roast out before you make the gravy on the stove top in case I didn't mention that! LOL Let roast "stand" while you are making the gravy THEN slice will slice easier.
