Sin it self is a CRIME as far as Religion is concern.
Certain countries in the world PUNISH those proved commit ADULTERY. But in many countries ADULTERY was not categorised as CRIME as far as LAW is concern but as far as community or society is concern ADULTERY would be relate as LOW MORALITY.

If it is a violation of divine revelation in terms of human conduct, it is a sin. If it is a violation of the law of the state, then it is a crime. It is possible for something to be a sin, and yet not be illegal (against the law of the state). And it is possible for something to be a crime (against the law of the state) and yet not be a sin.

A 47yr old woman is married to a 66yr old man who has senile dementia. Slowly but surely the husbands memory has almost faded entirely. He is dependant on carers to feed, wash & clothe him. A few years pass & the wife meets a man her own age she has fun for the first time in years. She comits aldultery.
I dont see that she has committed a crime or a sin. Would you punish her for such actions?
