yes i would buy a cottage in ilfracoombe ..its lovely down there ...we have been down there many times and can reccomend to any one ..in fact when i retire we may move down there ..dont wait get in there

I went to Illfracombe in devon last year. I found it incredibly quiet and didnt like it for that reason. The main town was quite a distance too, and you would have to drive there. There were only little shops on the main high street, which overcharged on everything.

I did like the views though, and if you travela bit you can get to woolacombe beach which is just fantastic.

If you are seeking a haven for peace and quiet, then this is your place. If you are used to the shops and city life then its a big no no.

I would personally buy a holiday cottage somewhere else in Devon, nearer to the main town and shops, such as Barnstaple.
