Whatever happened to the old 7 red trains? Were they really dumped into the NY Harbor? Do you find it a waste what MTA has done when it could've been used for scrap metal?

They weren't dropped in NY Harbor.

They were dropped off the coast of NJ near Delaware.

The MTA would had to pay to have the cars scrapped. It was cheaper to have them dumped resulting in new reefs being created for the fish.

if you are talking about dumping the old cars into the harbor
its great idea, as a reef since it will provide more life for the fish in the sea
a lot companies have done this
yes they could have into scap metal but in doing so
that means more smog and pollution in the area
