Okay for those who are arrogant and full of pride(yourself excluded) here are the facts;
The Blessed Virgin was preserved from the stain of original sin by God Who applied to Her soul the merits of the passion, death and resurrection of Christ, and this God was able to do wonderfully.
Now how we say otherwise? God detests sin and cannot abide to have sin beside Him and so Christ had to be born in the womb of a spotless woman without sin or else God would have lay in the womb of a sinner for 9mths or so, is this so unbelievable? there is a lot of very poor and bad theology in some of the answers here and I wonder what spirit is directing these/

Mary was born "Full of Grace" that means she did not have the stain of original sin, also meaning she was the "Immaculate Conception"

Catholic Christianity does believe that Mary was a sinner. Not an ACTUAL sinner, but a POTENTIAL sinner who was redeemed by God from the moment of her conception so that she never fell into sin. So yes, Mary was redeemed, but she was also predestined by God to bear his Son and so she was upheld from falling into sin.

Yes Mary was a sinner. The Bible only states that Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus Christ. It was Jesus Christ who was not a sinner.

Although she was Jesus' mother, she was only a human being, and therefore, a sinner also.

She was a sinner that needed to be saved by Jesus. She plays no role in salvation. She isn't a virgin anymore, because after the miracle virgin birth of Jesus, she had sex with Joseph and had many more children.

And she's dead, so she can't hear anyone "praying" to her. Necromancy is a sin in the Bible.

There is nothing in the Protestant Bible about the immaculate conception of Mary - so where does the Roman church get this nonsense from?

Yes. You are correct. Mary was no different than you or I except that she was faithful to God and she was of the heritage and line of David.
