Who says you cannot wear white? Only religious people see white as virginal, but there is certainly no rule saying you cannot wear white or ivory or cream etc. You can wear whatever you like to a registry office wedding, anything at all. I've posted a link here to Dessy Designs, it's their bridesmaid page, you can see each dress in a variety of colours.

Hi and congratulations!

Why can't you wear white or ivory? There is no rule against that. It doesn't matter about the kids.

There are so many nice halterneck long dresses or "informal" type gowns.

If you don't look good in white or ivory, go for whatever color you like! A soft pink would be nice. But, again, you CAN wear ivory or white. There is no rule against that for second time brides!

Good luck!

Why can't you wear white or Ivory? It is a choice.
Otherwise go for a nice shade of pink

Why can't you wear ivory? or taupe? I'd look for lovely dress in a soft hue.
Take him shopping with you for the dress if you are that worried.

what about something in a champange color? If you don't want to do a full on wedding gown....try like a bridesmaids dress.

These are just for an idea.
