I am a skeptic and athiest but I'd like to hear other peoples opinions of what happens to use when we kick the bucket.

Our metabolism ceases. Our cells stop functioning. We rot. The world forgets us on a timescale commensurate with our recorded accomplishments, and billions of years from now, our whole planet dies anyway.

Probably best to talk to an immigration attourney, that is a tough one. Technically speaking, the answer is no, she will have to leave when her conditional GC expires. However, you might be able to provide evidence of his death and get the conditions removed that way. But like I said, talk to an attourney. Do not try to handle this situation yourself. Make sure she prepares for the worst and has a Plan B (ie. a job/family lined up for her in the Ukraine if all else fails). Unfortunately with the current and absolutely rediculous processing times for green cards, these situations are popping up more and more these days. People can be married for many years to a US Citizen and still not be granted permanent residency. But I really can't blame the process nor USCIS for that, it is the countless number of fraudulent marriages that ruined it for everyone.

First of all there is no bucket. You will either live in eternity with God or Truth or Love, how ever you choose to accept it, or you will live with the knowledge of the above without being able to touch it. The latter is like having a eternal treat just out of reach. Now is the time to make the choice before you leave your flesh, and you really never know when that might occure.

In Islam,
A person will face this 5 worlds..
1- the souls world
2- the mother's womb world
3- this world
4- the grave world
and finally 5- the Akhirat ( hereafter) world

when a baby was born, he/she is in fitrah (Islam and pure) but its up to their parents fill up their own baby's faith...

when he\she was grown up, until they matured enough, all their good or bad is on their own responsibilities..

when the times come, like god said, every living thing will meet death, he\she will go to the fourth world..where there is no use of wealth, no use of nephew nor friends, and only ONE thing will accompany us in the grave :
-our good deeds

there will be popular answer will be ask by angels Mungkar and Nakir , like
1- who is your god?
2-who is your leader?
3-what is your book?
4-what is your religion?

by then, only our good deeds can answer, and if not...
there will be the PUNISHMENT!

Great things and so many events will happen, however this is not the proper place to mention all of this in detail, you mainly need to know that every one will be asked about his God, religion and what he says about his prophet and according to his answers he will live either in a piece of heaven or hell.
For every one living in the age of or after Muhamed, peace be upon him, prophet of Islam, the answers that will rescue you are:
my God is Allah (alone without any partner, wife, brother,....)
my religion is Islam
and Muhamed is my prophet
Note that you will not be with your current status, meaning that your answer will be according to your deeds and beliefs in life.

We probably believe the same thing.
When we die our loved ones have some sort of ceremony (depending upon where you are from) and then they either bury or burn the remains. We cease to exist. I do not believe in a heaven or hell.
Although I have lately been hoping that reincarnation is really possible...

We no longer function. It would be similar to how we experienced things before birth. Without the brain, we no longer are capable of thinking..

Now, I would love to see anyone who could possibly refute that we can think without a brain.. It seems this is such an elementary concept most people would get it (I'm not saying you don't just ranting on other people).

I think we go to heaven and I think that it may be a little different for each of us, depending on what makes us happiest. I don't believe in hell necessarily but I do think we will all be judge and regret the bad choices we made in our lives. I guess you have to research all ideas and decide what you what you think. Try watching the movie/documentary "what the bleep do we know" it has a very scientifically approach that is interesting. Also "the secret" book or show.

According to Genesis, we return to dust. According to Ecclesiastes a dead man knows nothing. But, somewhere somehow there has got to be a measure of justice for those who did good and those who did bad.

So according to Jesus himself; there will be a resurrection. The good to life everlasting on earth. The bad to eternal destruction ( meaning second death ). (John 5:29-30 )

You will be reincarnated ( born again ) according to your karma ( some how your good and bad acts average ).
More good you do better is your futur reincarnation condition.
We are in a kinda alternating immortality which is a passage via several incarnations when we finish we will reach the final destination which is a permanent immortality. You can call it what you want , paradise , nirvana ; the deliverance . . .
