Is it normal for female cats to spray?

I have had female and male cats.
Males usually always spay, out of being dominant.

Female cats cannot spay up the wall like male cats,they will wee though if other cat is in or has been in its territory.

Boy does it smell though,like perm sollution, I remember that very well : )

Yeah. My female cat was spayed at a young age and continued to spray for the rest of her 18 years, she was very territorial. If your cat isn't already spayed, get it done pronto.

While it is much more common for male cats to spray, be assured female cats do too, especially when in season.

all cats spray, and all cats spray to mark their territory. i have two female cats, and the spray because they feel threatened by another big cat who lives next door. unfortunately there is nothing we can do to stop it, and it makes the whole house smell! if your cats are spraying, id advise you invest in a good air freshener!

Yes, usually alpha females do this - they are marking territory the same as with males

They can. It's usually a greasier thing than what male cats do. I had one female cat who would do this occasionally.

Some do, some don't. I found that a Felliway diffuser worked for ours. Apparently it releases a scent that calms them down. You can get it from your vet, and it plugs into an electrical socket, like an air freshener.

Hi,if there anything like my Girl dog.When she gets a scent she lifts her leg to wee.Asked the vet it is normal there marking there territory.
