People with creative imaginations can blow things out of proportion or dwell on things - i.e. they let their imagination run riot! However, most of us reflect on our decisions and missed opportunities at some point - it's normal. Accept that this will happen sometimes but keep looking forward and being positive. Learn from your mistakes and understand that you can't do anything about them as they are in the past.

I feel exactly the same and always have. People tell me it's an active mind combined with an overactive imagination! On the plus side, that's how all the genius people in the world thought - Einstein etc felt just the same - that's how they come up with their ideas! Someone once told me the things you need to remember when you're stressing and obsessing about what people think of you, what you said wrong and how that will effect things, what bad things could happen if...etc, is A) you're not a mind reader, therefore don't have any way to know what others are thiniking and B) you're not a fotune teller so don't have any way to know or even speculate on what will happen. Don't live in the past (obsessing about something you said or did or something that happened) and don't live in the future (obsessing about what might happen, could happen, probably will happen...) Live in the now. Whenever you feel yourself thinking too much and your mind spiralling off ground yourself in the here and now. Think about what you can see, hear and feel right now. Breing yourself back to a good focus because now is all that matters right now...

Well, those thoughts are a bit obsessive, but I iuse that terms loosely, it's not like you have OCD. Constalty thinking and over analyzing is a sign of anxiety. Escaping the cycle of worry is the only way to create a new cycle of happiness. Luckily, there are concrete strategies that you can develop to help you release your stress and focus on the things that make you happy. Like any habit, worrying is a pattern that can be broken. Because the pattern is familiar to you, it will take practice to break free from the cycle.
Step one: Pay attention to how you feel. We all have emotions and we have them for a reason. The discomfort that comes along with worry is a warning bell that something deeply important to us is missing in any given situation. Learn to recognize the first signs of worry before they have a chance to initiate a cycle and turn into a stressor.
Step two: Identify what you really want. As we said in step one, uncomfortable feelings are warning bells that something deeply important is missing. In order to start breaking out of the worry cycle it is essential to start identifying what you want in a situation.
Step three: Take action. There is always some kind of action you can take. When you're in action, you have less time to worry or be hopeless about things never changing.

Anything can happen, but usually only one or two are possible. You have to consider what the probabilities are and then concentrate on making a decision involving consequences with high probabilities. For example, it is possible, according to quantum physics, that you will be on the dark side of the moon in the next instant, but the probability is infinitesimally small.
Try t find a workbook on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder or Depression, something to do with excessive worrying. It is a very common problem, enough to write books about it.

I'm just the same, my partner and I are always arguing because every little thing he say's to me I take the wrong way completely. Another thing I dwell on is arguments. When we argue, I can't help feeling hurt for weeks on end about things that were said to me in the heat of the moment. I too am creative. I love writing, art etc. But I do suffer from anxiety due to the fact that I was bullied throughout my school years so I think that is where my insecurity comes from. Please go to the doctor, they can refer you to a professional who deals with this sort of thing all the time. I attended anxiety classes and they helped a lot. x

There is nothing wrong with being analytical, but, you just need to be rational along with it. It is actually good to break things down,..but if you are 'reading' things into it, just sit down, read the facts, and then do your analyzing of the problem. We blow things out of proportion, when we are irrational..all it takes is to get into the habit of really looking at what we are dealing with, and taking it from there

I get like this a lot - i still worry over things that happened last year that were very small. I try to write it down whenever i can or sleep. Neither usually work though for a long time, sorry =[ =[

People who study psychology often come to the belief that they have many of the disorders they've studied, people who study medicine do the same for illnesses, etc.
The slightest paranoia can lead a person to believe they have what they read.
This is generally true for every person, excepting narcissists who are too prideful to believe they could have anything and thus they are opposite :)

there is nothing wrong with you ,i am like that too think deep into issue and sometimes ask myself if i am normal,came at the conclusion we are just little bit creative just don't let it bring u down ,always look at the positive side of issues and always try to drop it off your mind if its weighing too much by thinking of something else in conclusion try to be productive with it put all those energy into creating something special like writing down ur thought

It's amazing the number of creative people that suffer with depression and anxiety. Look at artists and musicans, even comedians who are haunted by their demons.
I try to think about the positive things that are around me but I admit that it is hard sometimes.
