Kubuntu is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu. It uses a different GUI, but it can run all the same software. The only reason to choose it over, say, Ubuntu, is if you like the KDE environment better (which I do).

Hi, Kubuntu is a Linux operating system. It is made by the same people who made Ubuntu Linux. The difference is that Ubuntu uses the gnome theme where as Kubuntu uses the KDE desktop theme.
Linux in general has now become very easy and user friendly. You have a few viruses, and no spyware at all. The benefit is that is free and secure and is like a free version of the Unix operating system. I would have completely switched over to Linux, but a few reasons keep me back.
The latest NVIDIA graphic card drivers for Linux still don't give u hibernate and standby support. The desktop effects are awesome though. The thing is even though Linux has improved, some of the common functions still don't work well. I suggest that u use Windows Vista as it has all the security features of Linux in it.
Good Luck!

It's a better OS. Imagine using your computer without the virus scanner, with out scanning for spyware with 3 different programs once a week, and without the crashing you get with windows. Personally i prefer Ubuntu, but Kubuntu is great too. It just looks a little too much like windows for my taste.
here is your screenshots

If you mean Ubuntu, it's an easy(ish) to use Linux distribution.
Advantages, runs on older PCs than windows will, costs nothing, download from ubuntu.com
Disadvantages, windows software will not run under it without some "knowledgeable tweaking" and ewxtra software
