I see that now the Mexican illegal aliens are deserting the US for Canada and claiming refuge status there, on grounds that they will be persecuted if they remain in "the land of the free".
Isn't that ironic, if not shameful, since the US was composed of immigrants seeking a better life in the first place?
Any comments?

LOL the key here is ILLEGAL aliens. If they want to stay in the US then they are welcome to do so. However they have to enter the country LEGALLY.

Oh, and why exactly would they go to Canada when their own country is just a close? The only thing I can think of is that they are looking for a free ride.

I think it's hilarious.

We have immigration laws as have all other countries including Mexico (much stricter than ours) and Canada. What Canada has differently, is the ability for Mexicans to come without a visa because historically so few have overstayed, those generally overstaying here instead. I can see Canada's system changing on that point, actually, now that they are getting just the tiniest taste of what we have been suffering. They only have 200 or so over the last couple of weeks and have press reports out the wazoo about the hundreds of thousands of dollars of costs, and Ontario (or Toronto?) wants $25 million more in their budget, etc.

We are suppose to be the land of the free and home of the brave (our troops, for one) and isn't it that all the U S does is send them back, Is Canada any better, I know draft dodgers in the past have gone there, and here in the U S there is a communication problem sometimes, with the lllgals, but in Canada, it might be worse, cause some people speak french, and the illegals speak spanish, talk about a communication gap.

Well......I'm afraid they are going to find out that just because they want to go there and claim refugee status because someone told them they could......they are no more guarenteed to get it there than here. They are already complaining about the amount that is arriving because no country can take all these people. Their "aid" budget is being swallowed up and they've just had a few hundered. Atleast there I guess they let you know in about a year.....and they will ship them back to Mexico.

Just like here.....it's not that people don't care.....we just cannot sustain the invasion.

I just wonder what club they'll use on them? Must learn Spanish.....this is our continent....we were here first....go home anglos......racist.....we DEMAND....we are here and we aren't leaving. Canadians are very nice people and I don't think even they would feel compelled to role out the red carpet to their demise either if they are treated like we have been.

I did have to laugh though.....they are upset with a few hundred.....try a few million and see if they aren't wanting a stop put to it as well.

If they fear they will be persecuted here they could have gone back to Mexico. It is not the least bit shameful on the part of the US. It is shameful they feel they have the right to come here Illegally and then say we will persecute them for breaking the law. If they come legally there is no problem.

its only the land of the free for people w/ money. We are smart enough to not buy into the hype, why arent you. I bet if i went to mexico and set up camp under your name id be in jail. Im real close to calling CNN to test that. I would also expect a 4th of July party next year like the city of phoenix threw for the illegals. If this is true i feel sorry for canada.

It's a ridiculous basis for a claim of asylum. They clearly had the opportunity to return to their home countries. I'm in support of some means to legalize the status of illegal aliens and to allow more legal immigrants in in the future, but these claims don't even pass the laugh test.

Hi,
Sorry I feel if Mexicans want to come here then they should do it legally. And any other people wanting to come here should also do it the legal way. Key word that you used was the word Illegal.
That means they have broken laws, which means it's illegal. Why should we pay for people that are willing to break laws to come here. Try breaking a few laws in Mexico, and you'll have a nice long stay in one of their all-inclusive male bonding resorts.

Let the Mexican Illegal Aliens flow into Canada.
The US people welcome LEGAL Immigration.
Illegal Aliens have no right to be in the US. Their plight, poverty, place in life is not our problem.

BTW---Illegal Aliens are NOT Immigrants. They are Criminal Invaders.

Yes, imagine a country persecuting people by making them follow laws! Imagine that! I hope ALL criminals run to Canada. They can have all our pedophiles, murderers and even our petty thiefs if they want too. They want to be free too! Then everyone can be free to do as they want in Canada and we fuddy-duddies will go back to expecting everyone to obey the laws here in the USA.
