I was a State Champ for 200 and 100 met res and I try to teach my grandchild to move those arms as fast as you can and your legs follow but also that start is important you must be able to put full power into that start it mat mean shortening your gap between your legs so initially you do not swing that starting leg too far and lose about a metre ~~

faster?--as in sprints or in long distance?I will cover both OK.In sprints its very important to have a long stride. Now to develop that means you run hard and with short stride on take-off, and when you get to speed get that long stride going.Very important you have strong upper thigh conditioning and flexible Achilles for the stress on every step(there are work-outs that help in those areas).--in long distance running the above wont hurt. But with long distance you need to learn to breath thats the most important. You start out with distances you are comfortable with finishing and then gradually increase it over time.

Just have daily workouts, and practise hard. Always listen to your coach's advice! Pretty soon you'll improve.
